Jammed Finger :(

Injured my finger on my left hand playing ball yesterday and now its in a finger cast....grrr. I took of the finger splint to attempt to play while keeping my finger straight, and DAMN is that painful. Its slightly swollen and blue, but def NOT broken. Anyone else ever had a similar injury effecting their pwn hands? I need to know if im day to day or on the 15 day DL!

Sprained my wrist once falling down stairs.
That's about as close as I've come (it was cracked, rather.... didn't hurt unless I moved it at all LOL)

I was walking up the stairs in the dark and thought I was on the second to top step (instead of the top step) and fell forward into the wall... I thought I just jammed my pinky pretty bad but my 5th metacarpal showed up broken on the x-ray. Didn't even hurt too bad and I was gaming that night but I had to get a little brace thing on it for a couple weeks. I'd get it x-rayed just in case... you won't really know otherwise! I could have sworn mine was no issue until I saw the x-ray.

I'd go with day to day. I had a similar injury once...Jammed my right middle finger pretty badly and had to have it in a splint as well. This was a while ago, but if I remember correctly I was "out" for a few days...Think it might have been around a week at most. But yea, +1 to what Toad said, def get it checked out if you haven't already (Although it sounds like you have since it's in a splint). I jammed my right pinky and thought nothing of it at the time...The knuckle now bulges out and the finger is crooked ;[

Just be glad that you didn't get injured somewhere else. I've broken my right elbow (Happened while throwing a baseball...Surprisingly common injury), and had to be put in a cast that went from mid bicep to the base of my fingers...Gaming with that was a challenge to say the least haha :P I've also fractured my left thumb (Had a collision at the plate while playing catcher)...That one wasn't as bad as the elbow, but it certainly didn't help my gaming either >.>

Anyway, hope your finger is all better soon!

Yea i did basically the same thing during basketball season this year Vafa. A senior smoked that one finger with his hand, and it swelled up to double the size and turned blue. I had to play thorugh it tho. For the love of the game I guess haha.

Had a boxers fracture on fifth metacarpal with the broken piece almost facing straight down. Played and went to work like that for 2 days, then had a plate with nails installed, then played with cast for a few days, then cut off cast and played some more...
