    2v2 Tournament Thingy

Here's the scoop, A few months back there was a possible 2v2 tournament that fell apart almost instantaneously (I think we got 1 match in). Not that it wasn't a good idea, its just always hard to make people's schedules work out.

Here's where this topic comes in: Theoretical only of course.
You are playing first to 10 then swap sides and play to 10 again, If a tiebreaker is needed the challenging team picks the map and side. Both Sites are open for plants on DE maps and CS maps are also allowed.

Here's what you respond to, YOU NEED TO:
Pick your teammate (base it off of playing style, saying "I choose vafa because he's good" isn't valid and I will shun you)
Pick your oppponents (that you think would be a really close match, saying I choose Nubby McNub will also result in shame)
Pick the main map (give reasons why you chose this map, your mannerisms there etc, D2 because I like it.... shame)
Pick the tie-breaker map (same reasons as above)
Say what you think the score would be (If you say 10-0 10-0 then you obviously don't deserve to have a say)

Let's see who you guys really like to play with/against etc.

    Re: 2v2 Tournament Thingy

    Wishbear & Slikathanky
    vs
    Vafaskillz & Xtreme

I choose Slik because his patience and cookiness really complement my rushing tactics and my own goofiness.
I chose Vafa and Xtreme because I know they are good team but with the right amount of teamwork Slik and I could overcome them... I am of course Vafa's bane.

Map is CS_Havana we're T first: With the map changing every round, it really makes the pathing, timing, and chokes different and really fun to play. Also it is a hostie map and in general is just underplayed.
Tiebreaker Map: DE_Nighthawk_Cevo we're T side: A very fun custom which is also underplayed, so many routes that the t's can take it makes it difficult to know where they are coming from.
    Score: (10-8, 6-10, TIEBREAKER 10-7)

That's right vafa... You's goin' down hoe!

    Pick your teammate:
Lots to choose from. But would pick Hanselx | Twin. We have a ton of playtime together and play-style tendencies that compliment each other. He tends to be more methodical and long ranged shooter. I'm a runner but have plenty of experience scouting, flanking, covering, leading. We both nade a ton.

    Pick your oppponent:
Spring and Perry Cox. As asked for I think this would be a close match. None of us four are stellar, but all solid team players.

    Pick the main map:
Season. Would make for a rather challenging 2v2, and there are points for both snipers, sneakiness, and rushing.

    Pick the tie-breaker map:
Nuke or Aztec. Unusual maps, and I get the feeling these three guys actually like these maps in small player environments.

Say what you think the score would be:
Hard to say, it's suppose to be a close match. I'd expect a few blowout sides from both teams. (ie rollin' gettin rolled)

All theoretical. 2v2 is more than just time to make up the matches, this involves lots of 1on1 stratting and scrims.

    Re: 2v2 Tournament Thingy

    ooo this is theoretical
hrm... ill have to think about this one

    my first thoughts were...

"i want someone that will rush well with me" (vafa, scrum, xtreme, and mard came to mind)
"or maybe i want someone that i feel comfortable with" (face, manno, and raush)
"i want to fight someone that i would either (a) have fun playing against, (b) is a good contrast to our rush style, or (c) would produce an entertaining match"
I broadcast gaming videos on Twitch TV and my finished videos are on YouTube! Recently I shoutcasted the Counter Strike Tournament at PAX Prime 2012!

    Mr_Blonde_OPS & Indaf4ce
    VS
    Scotty & Lee

I would enjoy Indaf4ce as my teammate because he is a very well-rounded player. He knows lots of tatical calls and I really enjoy playing with him when he's on. He is also good at messing with the opposing teams head and making them think one thing and then doing another. (Kansas City Shuffle)

I would choose Scotty and Lee as our opponents because I find them to be very underrated players. No one ever talks about how sick nasty these two guys are...maybe that's because everyone already knows lol. Everytime I play against one of these guys they seem to always out-smart me or just over power me with pure skill. I know playing against these two together would be a hell of a challenge and Indaf4ace and I would have to put our heads together (no homo) to beat them.

The map I would choose is de_inferno. Probably my favorite map to play, but with 2v2 it would be a very challenging map. T-side would have the advantage being able to rush together while the CT's would have to pick a site and hope the T's come that way. (Would not want to split up) If the CT's pick the wrong site then they would have to tatically rush the bomb site and use flashes and nades to kill the enemies. I would choose CT side first.

Tiebreaker Map would be De_Season. Whoa one hell of a hard tiebreaker right? So many options for the T-side and even harder for 2 CTs to figure out where the Ts are going than on Inferno.

    Score: (6-10, 10-4 Tiebreaker 10-9)
Really fun post trying to think about this scenerio. It would be a really intense match, but in the end Indaf4ce and I would come out victorious.

Hmm, i appreciate the vote of confidence. although, i doubt i am the most patient player, by any means. i am at the front of every rush, but i am not the best at clutching or creeping. this 2v2 scrim would probably involve a lot of both clutching and creeping.

i am ready to be your partner and fight to the death. vafa and xtreme are a formidable one two punch. their strategies, shooting, patience, and impeccable communication definitely give me fits. i would not be the best teammate. i might frustrate the hell out of you wish with my inaccuracy and bad sound. i recently got a head set from a friend and it is pissing me off. i'm back to my old speaker set up.

but, i am not afraid! *eye of the tiger plays* lets do this! when we finish with y'all, we are gonna be smokin cuban cigars on our private yacht in Guantanamo bay.

    Re: 2v2 Tournament Thingy

    Pick your teammate:
Though there are lots to choose form, I would go with shade. I have a lot of play time with him and he plays similar to how I do, those he's a bit more skilled than I am. He's also a fellow clanmate and someone who I joke around with regularly. We would also compliment each other from both team sides, I guess, as I am decent on terrorist side, but he's better, and he's decent on CT side, but I'm better.

    Pick your opponent:
Smokey_Bones and Bishop. Both of these players are skilled and, well, I have a "all in good fun" grudge thing going on with both of these players. They both seem to have similar play styles, as well.

    Pick the main map:
Season. Seems like a balanced map for a 2v2 match but still offers a challenge in regards to the variety of ways you can approach the map.

    Pick the tie breaker map:
Strike. A map that requires patience but also a map that offers the possibility of constant actiion.

Say what you think the score would be:
It's really hard to say given that I haven't seen any of the players play in a low person server, resulting in higher registration and lower lag. However, I would still think it would be a reasonably close match. I would say CT 8-10, T 10-5, TIEBREAKER CT 10-6.
