    edit: lol, fail title. Should read: "Ever feel like that nade just..."

    didn't do as much damage as it should have?

    Apparently its a bug where the nade penetrates armor depending on what gun you are holding when it explodes.

    Other fixes in the beta:
    inferno bugs fixed. No more B arch boost!
    smoke plumes super fast and is no longer 1-way.
    crosshair reacts better.

    First off, NO MORE INFERNO ARCH BOOST!!! lol Just kidding, but I didn't expect Steam to fix something like that. Are all boost areas, like the inferno doorway over looking B-site, considered bugs? Secondly, I have noticed many times that my nade did not do as much damage as I expected it to do. I never noticed it to have anything to do with the gun I was carrying though. It will be interesting to see the difference now...doubt it will be anything noticable.

    When a nade goes off underneath someone's crotch, I fully expect it to kill them....not do 47 damage, allowing them to keep running at me somehow and shoot me in the face with a shotgun from across the map......

    How about updating nades that actually kill people when they go off 2 inches from their face?

    I am constantly at a loss for words at how little damage my grenades do. I was playing nuke the other day and rushed ramp room as a T. I threw a nade over the box toward the back of the ramp and watched it hit the ground and explode right on a CT's foot. I mean, it was literally touching him when it went off. I died from a headshot right after that so I checked console... 32 damage with that nade. I hope I see improved results with the update, but I'm not holding my breath

    That would suck. All chokes would just get nade stacked more than they already are and Ts wouldn't have a chance. Kill nades work in other games because either it is a respawn game mode or the maps are a lot bigger. No respawn + smaller maps + kill nades = no fun. I also consider it a team work thing, you have to coordinate your nades with other people.

    Since learning about this bug, I now switch to my knife (if I have an smg or weak pistol) when the nade explodes and it seems like the nades are more reliable. Try it.
    We can do better.

    Aye, though there are so many factors with this it's difficult to say what's engine bugs, and what's user perception. Which is cool to see people doing controlled tests with it.

    I know it's a mix of both for me. I remember having a small debate with Faith like a year ago about how she thought HE grenades do not do any damage if you die before it goes off. They just usually doesn't show up on the stats but they do damage, cause I've seen postmortem kills. However I am inclined to believe that the grenade damage inconsistency has gone up some since the update. Before hand was use to getting tosses that hit a whole group doing 40-60 damage. Now sometimes it will just be insanely spread out (some getting like 7 dmg others around 80). I think this is from the improvements made with the hit-boxes and I still have yet to adjust.

    The "Which weapon the throw yields" bug though I never even considered. Considering how often I wield an MP5, or switch to pistol for faster momentum after a toss, this may explain why I felt as if I was always throwing confetti grenades.

    The thing is, if nades did the damage they were supposed to (I have the nades in DoD in mind) it would completely change the dynamic of the game, especially the way we play it. One nade could EASILY kill half of a rushing T team. And the rest would be hurting bad.
