    well i wasn't complaining, just pointing out that the only thing that makes estate "fair" is the money ct's get for the basement hostie. it's not so easy to get him if the t's try to stop it, but usually they don't.

    now if smart, able t's just kill him with nades every round, then estate becomes a real uphill battle for cash strapped cts.

    so i asked for a ruling on hostie killing specifically because i wanted to know if we could kill the basement hostage. but think about it, if either side can just kill hostages at will, i fear for the longevity of cs_estate.

    They used to be able too, which was awesome.


    I always thought TPG made it clear that CT's COULD move bomb to unreachable place if T's were to drop it....I thought we had this discussion in the admin forums a couple years ago....

    The victory circumstances in hostage situations is flawed imo. Where's VIP? LOL.

    I condone T's killing hostages (because they lose if they kill them all)
    and I do not condone CT's killing hostages (I feel they should lose if they even kill one).

    Yea it is ok to move the bomb around, but I personally think it's cheap since we are unable to move the hostages as T's.

    Also, I've never seen T's lose because of killing hostages.

    Ts don't auto lose for killing all the hostages. It actually gives the Ts an advantage, because now they just have to stay alive til the round time runs out.

    Edit: as a side not, in the newest beta of CSS, the bomb cannot be moved with the +use command (pressing 'e').

    I think the difference here is that the T's start with the bomb. So for the CT's to be able to move the bomb, the T's have to fuck up and give them the bomb. The T's start at the hostages. There is nothing the CT's can do about the T's shooting the hostages and taking away their objective.

    i'de love to see some vip action at tpg
    just need to find some good maps for it... and make sure we dont stack t's

    ooo what if we had a hybrid hostage and vip map where there were 4 vip's and only 2 had to make it out safely?
    number of players on each team might have to be tested... like maybe 8 ct's and 4 vip vs 10 t's or something...

    imo vip maps > css maps. would love to see it happen.

    so does the official rule remain kill hosties at will whomever you are, or is it changing?

    VIP.... Didn't we do that a year or so ago and it lasted all of 2 weeks before no one wanted to touch the maps again?
