    I wasn't here for that but from my understand it was a VIP server, much different than just introducing VIP maps into the cycle.
    In regards to the hostage stuff. I know there is a hostage limit for killing that will auto-kick. Though I think being more severe with it and doing a 30 min ban would be better. This would keep individuals from doing it constantly but not the team as a whole.

    I am all for the strategic killing of hostages by Ts after CTs make contact with them.
    I am also for the strategic killing of two by the CTs to win.

    This was brought more to home when we were playing 747 the other night. The Ts were ferociously camping the back end of the jet, making it very difficult for the CTs to breach the last two. The hostages on the top level were easy grab and rescue. So we started to rescue those and kill the others with nades out of vents. Worked well, and I felt was pure tactic.

    When we put up VIP last time it was on the third server, and not in the rotation. They were added mainly to test them to see if they worked. Shortly after the third server was shut down.

    I think the main problem with VIP was that we had 2 versions of the map, 1 that worked fine and one that crashed the server. Think it was oilrig with different suffixes, that was the main reason no one voted for it because someone would yell oilrig, then someone else would type "no that's the version that crashes the server"

    Now that I do remember. When we put it into the cycle at least. We were all excited that day, testing it out like "Yeah this is nuts I miss this!", 2 minutes later crash. Try again, crash. Again, crash ok we give up.

    VIP would be amazing if it were a map we could vote as part of the regular mapcycle as a change of pace. There'd be some spectacular clutches I'm sure.

    Wasn't the Arctic map a VIP map? That worked fine on the T5.

    Sounds alot like the bomber on DE maps. A shitty bomber will clearly cause your team major difficulties and commonly cause your team to lose. But VIP was fun up until the crashes persisted. I think now, with the new smoke grenades VIP would be much more equal because CT's can have better self produced cover from smokes that it will almost entirely eliminate T's camping the final spot.

    A shitty bomber can be dealt with. If bomb goes down mid on an A call, T's can pick it back up and still have a chance. But if the VIP dies then it's game over.
