I've been playing my Xbox more to take a break from the PC. Forza 3 is fucking sick and F1 comes out today.

there's something to be said for simplicity. soccer is a very simple sport and just won't quit internationally as a crowd pleasing phenomenon. so is basketball.

i'm suprised a competitor with a better engine/graphics/everything still hasn't stepped up to the plate (at least that i've heard of), to produce a serious challenge to the relatively simple counter-strike. i mean, bc2..? too much. you'd figure some smart guy would pick his head up from the desk and say "frostbites 2's engine rules, lets mod a css alternative with it".

ps - i think when the next generation of consoles are released i'm going to pick one up. the old problems with consoles have largely been solved (screen resolution, online multiplayer and sheer computing power). all consoles need now is a mouse interface

For me a good game isn't all about looks, it's more about playability. The feel of CS is what's addictive to me, because console games just do not appeal to me, at least not for like the last 15 years. In my case, CS has created somewhat of a baseline in my gaming. I branch out from time to time but I always come back.

I can barely play single player shooters anymore because of this game. Or single player games in general. THey have to be REALLY in depth for me to stay interested nowadays. ATM I play CSS and WoW...and since wow is boring as shit till the new expansion(I've killed everything there is to kill and have a gladiator), I'm just playing CSS.
MW2 is decent but CSS just has a better feel for me. As for how long I've been playing, September 2nd 2001. I believe like 2-3 weeks later they released 1.3 which(iirc) brought several new maps in as long as a ton of bug fixes(piranesi I think was one of those maps, as well as maybe assault and inferno). Those may be wrong but it's been A LONG god damned time since that came out =/
