    Can't play

I'm on a string of bad luck with my damn computer. First, headphones/mic broke.

Second, GPU sucks. I get like 20 fps on my 9800GT. I have only had this GPU for like a year and already its on the fritz. Before that I had an 8800GT and it broke as well. I think I'm done with nvidia. I have always liked their GPU's, but enough is enough. I guess I am going to have to go with ATI in one form or fashion.

Needless to say I can't play with 20 fps and no mic. I'll try to get my shit together, but until then I won't be able to play much

Damn that sucks. I've had fairly good luck with nVidia, though I always get the GTX versions. And clean my pc out as regularly as possible so those hot suckers don't melt.

Lol, just to reduce heat, especially in the CPU/GPU/Mobo bridges. Clean your PC out with canned air regularly, It builds shit up, the materials inside become less effective at radiating heat. (Dust acts like an insulator)

You can get some seriously nice budget cards on both the new lines from nVidia and ATI. I'm having FPS problems with my CPU being 6 years old too >:O!

I don't mind so much about the price of the GPU, as much as I just want something that WORKS, is compatible with my machine, and doesn't break after a year.

Get an ati 5770. I have one, one of my friends has one, Hub has one. They are awesome and max out CSS, TF2, L4D2, and SC2. They are directx 11, have low power consumption, and are not very loud or hot. All for about $150.
    We can do better.

Thanks for the advice Max, I'll check it out. I only have a 500w power supply, think that will handle it?

it should definitely handle it. The 5770s only consume like 150 watts
