    Improving de_dust

Current Download Link (as of Jan. 5th, 2011): Download Link: Download de_dust_remake_b4.bsp

As everyone knows, de_dust is not a balanced or fun map to play. So for the past week or so, I have been modifying it. The main things I changed are that I added a connector from the back of A to B, added an area above the underpass, and added a tunnel from near underpass into B. But these things might be hard to picture, so here are images.

B site, showing the new connector in the back:

Inside that connector (yes, I need to fix the floor and ceiling):

Inside the A-B connector looking into A:

Inside A, with the A-B connector on the left and a new door in the A-Tunnel (to block deep nades):

Inside the A tunnels, looking into A. Notice the double stack, which is designed to allow the Ts to pre-flash the site.

    The new area above underpass:

From CT perspective, notice the new tunnel on the lower right:

Inside the tunnel from underpass to B, looking as the Ts would see it:

Same tunnel, left is where Ts come from, right side is into B:

Looking into that same tunnel from in B:

Its not the prettiest, but I hope it plays nice.

Any suggestions/comments/etc. would be much appreciated. This is still a work in progress, so I am open to change.

    Update Jan. 5th 2011:

I am going through and making all my new areas match the visual quality of the rest of the map. So far I slightly redesigned the lower tunnels to B and greatly upgraded their look and feel. Still not done with that part yet, but here it is so far.

    OLD Version.

Also, I thought about one more change to the map, one that DaveJ considered back in CS 1.1; A stairway leading from the underpass into the tunnels. This would allow Ts to rotate out of the underpass faster and possibly hit A. Thoughts?

looks improved, now we need to add another minute to the overall play clock and 15 secs to the bomb, perhaps

Dust_1 has never been a stacked map for me. I don't know why people have an issue with it. All you need to do is get your team to work correctly. slow play for about 30-1:00 then rush. It's not hard when people know what their doing when calling.
