    LERP?

Okay why is it that TPG servers are the only servers that my LERP is set to 20.. (Most everyone else the LERP is set to 31). On any other server my lerp is set to 100.

I would like to know how to get it set back to 100 b/c in my opinion I reg better with default settings. ( with LERP 100 ). I know most of you say that you need to have your LERP set to the lowest setting you can get it before it changes colors.. Maybe that is the case for all of you but not for me..

Does anyone know why TPG servers are like this and/or how to get my LERP set to 100 on TPG servers?

try messing with cl_interpolate. I think you need to have it set to 1 for it to be 100 and any form of 0.__ gets you closer to the 31 or 20. Although I too have been wondering why my lerp is 20 here and 31 at every other server I have played at.

I understand how to make the lerp go up and down with cl_interp and cl_interp_ratio ... but I cant seem to get my LERP to sky above 31. I WANT 100 anyone?

    Re: LERP?

You cannot set your lerp higher than 31. This is because the TPG server is using sv_competitive_minspec 1 which blocks all interp values greater than .031.

This setting helps reduce the instances you thought you were back behind the corner but died and seem to warp backwards, which is an issue inherent in having a higher interpolation time.

A possible explanation as to why you think you 'reg' better with a higher lerp is because you are given more time to react to shoulder peekers and the like. But its not actually better 'reg', just more forgiving for the shooter. Now the guy who thought he was behind a wall would think that it would be worse 'reg' or might think it is lag (which is sort of is, because his hitbox would be lagging behind his viewpoint).

Overall, lower interp values are better for everyone. If high values were allowed, then those people would have an advantage.

That is my understanding of it.

    Re: LERP?

I've read some very long technical discussions on this and they usually come out with 31 being a good value. If you really care, google will tell you more than you really want to know.
However, setting everyone's lerp the same really makes the argument moot because then no one has an advantage over anyone else because their lerp is lower.
I like that they chose to restrict it.

I guess I understand what your saying... But the thing is, is that I don't see the change in game.. I personally thing that you should keep the servers default to let everyone pick the setting that they prefer not what TPG prefers. And by the way I still get shot when it seems im behind a wall. So from that said I think we should have a poll on if we should have the server set back to default!

I see what your saying also.. but in my opinion I think you should have the right to have your "settings/config" how you want it. Depending on what kinda server im on (chicago, dallas, etc.) my setting very.

It's just something I notice from server to server. Even when I scrim/match the ppl that "SHOULD" have the advantage over me b/c I have a lerp of 100 and they have 31 or lower don't. I believe that this setting is just another "STUPID" setting that they threw in so everyone would worry about it.. Well I'm not wanting to worry about it but when its not set to default I do. I've had my setting at default from day one. Only setting I have ever changed from day one is "cl_updaterate, cl_cmdrate, rate, and ragdolls"
