    Favorite strats/callers

I know this thread crops up every few months but it's always worth rehashing because people come up with new strats and we get new maps and new people step up to make some calls. As per usual - what are your favorite strats(and which map obviously) and who are some of your favorite callers?

My personal favorite is a strat destined for doom....Season....B rush to CT spawn to A. It doesn't work often, but when it does it leaves all the CT's standing around in B scratching their heads and saying WTF?!

Another favorite is a similar strat on Lost Temple....right side of B tuns through CT spawn to A.

My 3rd favorite would be my very own upper take on Nuke....First person out of spawn gets window, next 2 hit squeaky, bomb out hut, everyone else split hut/squeaky and last person gets to CYA.

Favorite callers are probably going to crop up alot here - SmokenSherriff, vafa and Sidroc(MIA?) - in that order(sorry vafa) . They usually have a good mix of strats and like to pull a new cat out of the hat every once in awhile.

Lets here what yall think(fair warning - I have ZERO qualms about stealing your strats )

New comers feel free to step up or just read through and familiarize yourself with some of our more outlandish strats, and get a good list of callers to keep an eye on.

My favorite is a step up from this one. Exact same call, except you send bomb and one or two others down vents from the back. Everybody else takes A and holds it like the bomb is there, then ~10 to 20 seconds after bomb is planted, they work their way downstairs. The guys downstairs HAVE to be in constant communication though. If they get spotted downstairs, everybody has to get down immediately. Typically, CT's take A back just in time to realize bombs not there and blow up.

I don't know that I have a "favorite" strat caller, because it's a tough job and a lot of people do it really well, but a couple that stick out in my mind are (2)manno and Ira. Also $likathanky. It's not always about the strats, but how well they're able to communicate their strats, and they all do a good job of making clear, concise calls.

Some of my favorite strats, in no particular order...

    1. de_cpl_mill: Push up mid, smoke off the left side (site A), continue toward CT spawn and take the back hall to B.
    2. de_dust2: Bomb and top 3 delay straight-in to B, everyone else smoke mid and CT spawn, rush through Double Doors and hit B at the same time the Bomb guys go straight in.
    3. de_nuke: One person cover from the spawn/truck, everyone else rush outside with nades/flashes/smokes and show bomb, then everyone turn around and rush ramp room as fast as possible.
    4. de_season: Rush across to CT side of mid, go left, everyone rush through CT spawn and take B from the back side.

Ping-ponging and pain-training are my favorite calls lately. Ping pongs are great at the start of the round, or even towards the end of the slow play. As long as the person in charge knows when its time to stop ponging, you'll probably take the site with momentum! Pain training works well too. Though its related to the ping pong call, it doesn't have to be. You can snake all kinds of ways on rush with a pain train and end up taking a site easily AS LONG AS YOU DONT STOP FOR PICKS.

    Re: Favorite strats/callers

Anyone that can communicate a call clearly is good in my book. I don't really have favourite calls, I suppose any complicated call would be the most fun but the hard part is making sure your team understands and follows it. I've never heard anyone make this call for cpl_mill, I find that most calls are straight rushing or a standard slow play but tell me what you think of this:

(I guess its an "around the world" call, works for A+B, call is more or less dependant on the spawn)

Rush into SA1, first 2 to 3 down sewers rushing B, everyone else go to mid and smoke the ramp so ct's don't see down mid, go to SA2, loop back into t-side connector to SA1 and run the circle again to SA2 smoking mid, (hopefuly those first 2-3 guys made it towards B) hit B at the same time OR have the people sewers fake B and everyone rush cat-A OR smoke A side mid and rush mid-B. Too complicated?

I find the majority of calls for mill are slow play or straight rush or a combination. Rarely do I hear including sewers in the call. I also find that mid is the biggest weak point for ct's and that t's don't exploit it enough, all you need is a smoke and a flash and confidence to rush up, its pretty easy to take either site once mid is under a cloud. Anyways, complicated calls are my favourite, they're just hard to carry out sometime. I'll be moving out around July and will definetely get a mic when I have my own space, I'll grab one soon and use it during the day but can't at night.... it's pretty weak, I know... Been playing here long enough that I should have 1.

de_inferno_pro: Come on people, theres a reason for alt mid, too often do people complain that its too ct sided, alt mid gives t's more cover and options than you think, too much regular inferno thinking going on inside peoples heads with this map. (Not to be rude or anything).

de_nuke: I love straight into A or ramp-lower, by far my fav calls.

de_lost_temple_pro: splitting A, straight B, right side B-Ct spawn-A are awsome no matter how fail or win.

I think I'll just go get a mic now...

I think I like the calls on Piranesi taking roof or going squeaky. Or around the world on de_dust 2. and if we're on aztec gotta love being on CT and stopping things on the bridge.

    Re: Favorite strats/callers

My favorite callers are definitely the ones who come up with unusual calls to keep the CTs off balance. Some names off the top of my head are Madmax, Slikathanky and Vafa. It's not so much about doing crazy fakes and complicated routes, but carrying out traditional calls in a slightly different manner can really mean a lot to the success of the call. Also, as stated, those who can communicate the call clearly and quickly are a must. If it takes too much beyond the 10 seconds of buy time to complete the call, it's frustrating. When I'm calling I try to make the complete call within the first 6 or 7 seconds of buy time and then repeat the call for clarity within the next 4 or 5 seconds, so that by 2 seconds into the round, the call has been made clearly twice and no one is confused about their role.

    Some calls I enjoy making...

Dust2 - Smokes mid. Everyone flashes Long A, Bomb and 3 others delay outside Long A while the rest of the team rushes mid to lower B tuns to B on a fake. When the fake team starts engaging the CTs in B site, the Bomb team goes Long A and plants for Long. Works best if early on in the map you establish the ability to go lower tuns to B.

Season - There's a million Season calls that I love. One of my favorites to make is Bomb and top 2 walk & hide in Lower A. One person goes short A with smokes and flashes trying to look like a fake. The rest of the team walks B. When the one A faker dies, the B team runs & hits B. The B team needs to cause a serious ruckus in B while not dying too quickly, so that the CTs actually rotate to B. While the B team is doing their thing, the Bomb team goes up the stairs in Lower A and plants. Works best if you establish a successful "one guy fake across short A while the rest of the team walks B with the bomb" call.

Contra - Bomb and 2 others go upper A and wait/hide. The rest of the team goes mid, jumps into sewers at the far end of mid and goes sewers to A, putting a different spin on a split A call. Works best if you've established a mid, jump in sewers and go to B call at some point, and if the CTs aren't playing mid extremely well.

Nighthawk - Probably my favorite map to make calls on. One I really like is Bomb and 2 others wait/hide near the APC room. The rest of the team goes red room, throws smokes/flashes in A site and goes up the stairs to upper mid to B. (no stopping for picks in A allowed) When they are hitting the upper mid area, the bomb team goes into APC room and hits B on a delayed B split.

    Calls are fun.

    Re: Favorite strats/callers

Actually, right now some of my favorite calls are actually playing CT on Piranesi. Team play and calls work on both sides! Coordinated Roof/Mid straight out rushes can really hose a good T team. Timing, game flow and luck play a big part of making successful CT calls - and there is no better map to do it on IMO than pria.
