Thread: SourceTV slots

Just curious do we have source tv on the 2 main servers ?I`m rather dumb when it comes to this stuff .I was thinking if we added private sourcetv slots to both main servers than it would give the admins a usefull tool and also allow selected users to record demos for the community without effecting game play .
Seems to me it will be hard to record videos when you have to wait to die and more importantly effect the teamwork of the person recording .Also with a rcon tool ( HLSW - Game Server Browser and Administration Tool for example). Admins can watch the players in the servers via sourcetv more efficiently than actually being ingame and use a admistration tool to communicate and insert commands when needed.
I think a Admin that doesn`t have to focus on actually playing in the rounds will have a better focus on both teams to assure the servers stability.

It's a plugin (I think) and we don't have it on any of the Source servers.

O ok thanks Guyver , I remembered during the 3vs3 tournament we had source tv and I loved how we could watch both teams with ease and also moniter thier ingame communications. Since we now have a youtube channel page I thought maybe allowing a few private sourcetv slots would help someone the administration selects a perfect view of the teams interactions.
I have seen Admins in game and always thought damn these guys are good ,they have to help the team win and on top of that moniter the server for anything that effects stability. If we give the Admins a easier way of monitering the servers than it may boost thier morale or at least make thier jobs a bit easier.
I wasn`t sure if anything like this is already inplace thus the thread.

no not a plugin, sourcetv is disabled, occupies a slot, really not used. If admins really want to use it to spec ... maybe.... But i dont see many wanted to leave the game and join the sourcetv server to spec...

Last time we tried it we had issues with it hogging resources. It would be nice if we could use it to record demos 24/7 then if you suspect a cheater you always have a solid demo, but not at the expense of server performance.

okie dokie Yap hogging resources is a no no,put this in file 13 Well if someone wants to shoot a video I guess they can just make the admins aware of it so they dont get removed from server for camping spectator.
