Duddy, even if people read them every night they have to consciously use them fairly often for awhile until they become habit forming.

Tip: if it's really really laggy use a deagle and pump shotty. People will die before they even know you're there....at least thats what was happening last night

MP5 works great for lag too.

Oh, sometimes when you're holding a site and T's are pushing in through lots of smoke and flashes, run towards them. Often you'll pass each other in the chaos and end up behind them getting a few easy kills. This is great if you are saving or don't have a full buy. MP5 works great for this because often when rushing through you don't have a lot of time to react on the other site and the spray can be controlled easily for a few kills.

I might have already said this tip but I'm just bumping it. If you're slowplaying or holding a site, be patient! Wait an extra 3 seconds, count down in your head if you have to, before turning the corner. And walk the corner if you think there might be a baddie there, or if you're ready to step it up a notch and know the map & obvious spots well, strafe the corners.

Oh and if you're a T on dust2 on a full map and your team rushes B, the first thing you want to think of after taking the site is lobbing flashes over that wall into mid. As a T general, when you take a site the first thing you want to do is look at your radar and get in a spot where your back is covered and you can point a gun at a doorway. If more than 3 people are doing this, you'll probably win.

**meant to post this last night, forgot to post i guess. good thing there's that restore feature

Great tip. The flashing or smokes (or a combination of both) to hold sites as T that you just took is important on a lot of maps. Think about it, when you're CT trying to retake B on dust2 and flashes are coming over, you basically just have to stop and wait 5 seconds or more until you can see. That's valuable time!!!

On that same note, communication is important on this. If you have guys pushed out into mid, flashing is a bad idea. You also want to time the flashes. 4 flashes together only buys you one hell of a 5 seconds. 4 flashes 5 seconds (3 or 4 seconds is probably better) will buy you a lot more time.

As terrorists, I wish the strat caller would not ask for everybody to throw their flashes and smokes at the same time, usually as decoys. 2-3 people make a good decoy in most situations with proper flashes or smokes. It's good to save some for when you really need them. I think that the team should be responsible for following the call here and make sure at least 3 get tossed over long A (dust2) for example. If you see three fire in the holes, hold yours for when you take B or whatever. Use your smarts people. ; )

I haven't read through all the pages to this topic so I hope I'm not repeating anything, if so then I'll just bump it.

    Positive Mental Attitude (PMA)

This is more for those of us with microphones but it goes for all players. When your team is getting run over and everyone is frustrated and getting stressed out because of a lack of money/skill/etc the worst thing to do is complain/whine/bitch. It doesn't matter what the reason for losing is, a loss is a loss and it already happened, time to move on and leave the round(s) behind.

When people start talking on the mic or typing in chat about how bad the team is doing then guess what, you're just bringing the team down, but more importantly their mentality. Just remember to control the words coming out of your mouth, or out of your fingers(?), and make suggestions to help the team:

Mill/Season/Inferno/D2/etc - P90 rush mid as 1 unit, I've seen this boost the team spirit after CT's slaughter the T's.
Any map/either side - Nade stack a popular area held by the opposing team.
Saving for 2-3 rounds, you might still get run over but atleast everyone can afford a decent weapon/armor/nades, then make a call or hold the site.

I find that if I'm angry/stressed/annoyed I don't concentrate and my mind is millions of light years out of the game. On the other hand when I'm in a good mood and not really thinking then that is when my head is in the game and I'm concentrating and thinking my ass off without thinking. It doesn't make sense but it does. PMA!!!

    Good post Vin Deagle.

Another tip kind of in line with what Vin is saying. Dont worry about who is on the other team or be intimidated by them as well. Honestly when Im playing against the top players on the server I dont view them as that specific person, BUT as just another player model I have to kill to win the round/map. Its easier to think of playing against 10/11 other player models, instead of playing against Vafa, Luker, Pimp, etc.

Is pretty much what I experience. Not specifically stress or anger etc. Just that when I am thinking without thinking, is when I do best. As tango use to put it (man he's been gone awhile) "Rock out with your cock out"
