Re: Post a tip to improve the skill of the community
I find that if I have no expectations of doing well or winning then I enjoy the game more and tend to win more. It's when I come on and want to "pwn" people that I do poorly and/or get upset about under-performing. Love the PMA post.

These are all very good, thanks.
A few of my suggestions:
1. Don't run in a line when rushing, Spread apart so that you have a clean line of sight and you are not a one shot 2 kill victim.
2. Don't just spray when you are shooting long distance shots, Take some time (milliseconds) to aim and shoot one or two shots at a time. I fail at this all the time.
3. I agree with everyone who has posted it before. Sound is very important!! Use it to YOUR benefit.
As far as calling, I like the unusual calls, the ones that are different from the regular calls that are made every day. I think it throws the CT's off when your are different.
Don't be Predictable.

I haven't made one single post here (I keep my tips to myself because Im selfish :P), but this is the one that most impressed me and I completely agree. As long as you have great hand eye coordination and experience in the game, the rest is all mental stability and focus.

Rushing as a team = good chance to win (remember the word RUSH)
Splits, delays, flash, counter flash, smoke, counter smoke, 1 way smoke, defensive smoke, flanks are vital parts of the game.
Sitting / camping one spot will never get you anywhere.
There is a significant difference between camping, watching flank, baiting and bailing on a rush.
Camping = sitting in one spot, mostly spawn. (in hope to kill a rotater?)
Baiting = Hiding behind a team mate so you can kill the guy who killed him.
Bailing on a rush = you have a good spawn, but you let someone else go first, so you don't get hurt, and get the easy kill. Usually they end up (try to and do a lot) being the last one in the rush.
Watching flank = Waiting to kill some rotaters. Now this one is tricky, IF the bomb is planted in A on De_Dust2, and you PUSH up catwalk, you are WATCHING FLANK, but this is not the bad kind, cause you are doing it AFTER the bomb is planted, and helping your team. BUT if you are doing this, before the site is secured and bomb is planted, you will likely be slayed, or be called a baiter.
And the biggest tip for the day, CAMPING spawn, OR one particular place, will most likely KILL your whole team, cause you will get sandwiched! Nade stacked, sprayed down.

Here's one that alot of people don't seem to catch on to...habits. Pay attention to people who do the same thing. Rad likes to play mid. Magus plays the car on D2 virtually every round. Icon pushes cat every single round on season. Mardigan rushes. Vafa and myself are very aggressive. Luker likes to come at you from the opposite angle of everyone else(aka the Luker shuffle). I like to setup future calls with previous calls. Ira cares more about execution and each person doing what they shoulud than complex calls. Pay attention to people and anticipate where they will play. Knowing how people will play makes it easier to predict where they will end up playing against your strat. Personally I find Vafa very easy to ferret out...we play very much the same(I remember one night in particular where we just kept mirroring each other and thinking it was hilarious that we kept doing the same thing as the other over and over) Use similarities like this to your advantage and act accordingly. I don't know how many times I've called out, or heard someone else call out what the other team was doing, just to be ignored and listen to the team figure out whats really going on 30 seconds after someone who called it out and then died.
Know who is good where and put them in a position to win.

cl_crosshairscale 1
How many of us have said "WTF, how did that shot miss? My crosshairs were right on the enemy's head!"
Crosshairs are just a GENERAL TARGET of where your bullets will hit. This essentialy makes aiming "false", or rather gives the player a false sense of "straight" direction. cl_crosshairscale 1 = no crosshairs what so ever. So what does this do? When you shoot you'll be able to see more clearly where each bullet lands. It is more about developing a "feel" for the game and helping one to trust their gut/instinct/etc. Lets say your aiming at an enemy, take a shot, you see where it lands, then you can better adjust to where you should be aiming. It takes a little getting used to but I find that you will develope a true feeling for your mouse sensitivity and for aiming. I don't know how often I, and many many many others, have had our Xhairs on the enemy's head and just sit there tapping our mouse looking moronicaly at the screen, get shot in the head and then say to ourselves "Wtf just happened?". I'll tell you what just happened. You were looking at your Xhairs thinking "Gee, the crosshairs are on the damn persons head, wtf is with this no registration crap?".
If you play with the standard Xhairs from the in-game options then you're given what I would consider fairly large Xhairs, they're large enough to give you a good view of where you bullets land as opposed to the cl_crosshairscale 1500-5500 I and a lot of others use. Some people are also just good at aiming and it doesn't matter what size Xhairs they use... bastards.
Try it out, see how it affects your game and aiming. Good luck.

Re: Post a tip to improve the skill of the community
I don't really have a lot of "secrets"... just general tips that a lot of people have already covered here. However there was one that came to mind last night while I was playing - hopefully no one's mentioned it here already.
Sometimes, if I find myself cornered and don't have any flashes or smokes to make an escape route, I will use an HE grenade as a sort of short-term smoke to allow for a quick escape. Even though HE's are designed to do damage, they can create just enough smoke to be useful as cover for the briefest of moments.
