thunder and storm

I'm thinking about tackling the difficult task of making a CS_thunder and DE_storm for TPG. Not certain though. It'd be fairly time consuming.

I know there are remakes of those maps already (albeit low quality), but if you wanted to remake them and maybe re-balance them, that would be pretty sweet.

You are right about it being very time consuming. GldSrc maps do not decompile very well; every brush face ends up being a 1 unit thick flat brush, turning even a simple cube into 6 brushes. I started work on remaking a 1.6 map, and it is very tedious making it 1:1.

I haven't played those map in years, would be nice to get something different into the map rotation.

I remember the lighting in de_storm being pretty bad around the bomb site, maybe it was just my monitor but it was difficult to see ct's in the shadows. I wonder if the new map still has that hidden AK47 in the site lol

I remember playing storm. Man it's been awhile, but watching that video I am reminded of that damned rush through DD (you can see the DD at 34s). It use to have a tendency to crash servers for some reason too. :-/
