Re: Just putting it out there...
As for being banned, etc. what Max said.
As for buying rifles seconds round, NEVER do it.
Round 1 = buy what you want
Round 2 = nade, flash, dont care if you won or lost
Round 3 = If you won both rounds, buy an SMG, if you lost even one round, save
Round 4 = you should have about 6-11k Buy up, so even if you die, you can buy 2 more rounds at least!

Re: Just putting it out there...
I don't usually buy until the 3rd or 4th round, if I do then I'll grab an HE nade. If I'm on T and we lose the first 2-3 rounds then rounds 3 or 4(or both) will probably be a slow play which is where saving helps(so that you can buy on these rounds). So if you've spent your money the first couple rounds and have lost then a slow play is called... there isn't much you can do unless you're in a position to catch rotators at close range.
I play CT sort of the same. First round I'll only buy a nade, if I buy at all. If we lose, buy another nade next round, by round 3 or 4 I should have enough for a TMP or MP5/Armor/Kit/Nade.
Sure you can buy what you want, but if you can't back up your team with some fire power then its hard to be much of any kind of help. Now if you're the only person doing that then its not much of a problem, but if a bunch of people keep buying on low cash then there is no call to help your team aside from a save round or two, which will often be followed by a slow play in hopes of getting some kills to earn you money and make the other team spend theirs.

Re: Just putting it out there...
I should probably make it clear, that i dont just buy on low cash ALL the time, i do save a lot of the time, but there should be noone trying to tell me whats rule around here and that i HAVE to save the first 3 rounds otherwise im a moron.
Also aussie, if i remember you were raging pretty hard when someone said that your calls were stupid. This is the same concept, but not only was he calling ME stupid he was calling EVERYONE stupid for not playing the game the way that you would if u were in a scrim.
Either way this was dumb and pointless to post about, This was mainly built up frustration due to i was getting kicked every 15min for client timeout and i played 4maps straight on T and nobody had their shit together, either way this is dumb lock it.Last edited by Stealthyking; 10-28-11 at 10:35 AM.

I would reference other games to see if there is precedent for controlling buys. Tpg does not have a history of limiting kits, controlling classes etc. Except in cases where it has strong history of not being teamplay oriented. Pursue the objective or die trying. Running around as heavy with fists out doesn't win, the same could be said of a glock rush. If you have better tools (guns) available use them.
I prefer armor and nades and deagle instead of rifle almost every round. I don't care to be told exactly what to buy. If we want to do a p90 rush sure that's fine, but don't expect someone to drop a gun they have and buy a p90 just to follow the call.

Re: Just putting it out there...
I don't like it when people at the very front of a rush on T side don't buy the 1 or 2 flashbangs that will give our whole team a fighting chance. Might not be valid for scrims but when there's a good chance you will have 11 people piling through a bottleneck people need to consider that and buy some flashes.
I don't like it when people on CT side decide to be economical and not buy an HE nade when they are on a map that rewards nadestacking or playing a T team that is rushing 6+ guys at bottlenecks at a time. I'm not saying fill up your pockets with nades every round, but if you are on dust2 on CT I don't see why you wouldn't buy an HE nade at least 75% of the time. Instead people just go hide, let me die as I try to contain the enemy team in a bottleneck and then get a kill or two on people I've weakened before dying themselves (and not slowing down the bomb plant hardly at all).Join the TPG Folding @ home team: http://www.teamplayergaming.com/pc-h...ding-team.html

Re: Just putting it out there...
I've so often hit re-buy without looking at my cash, or without waiting for a call, it's stupid sometimes, but I should hope to not be called names for it, mistakes happen. I think it was childish for you to be called an idiot for it, but hey, it's a game, and almost no one who plays it is 100% mature 100% of the time, shit happens, get over it, try to play a little smarter next time, and we'll all have a grand ol time xD.

Re: Just putting it out there...
I don't think comparing calls in CSS to teamplay in other games helps either argument. There aren't any strategies created by one person that apply during an entire round in either DoD or TF2 (lets be honest, its mostly people doing what they want while informing their team of their actions and actions of the enemy in those games). BF2 comes close to the amount of control with squad leaders and commanders, but SLs don't have 10 other people under them and commanders give very general orders (take X flag) usually. Correct me if I am wrong on that bit though, as I never played commander.
Perhaps you won't realistically get punished for not following a serious buy strategy. I just know that when people do coordinate, it helps the team and in my mind sets them above the rest teamplay wise.
Anecdote time:
A few weeks ago, I was playing CT on Losttemple. We lost all 6 of the first rounds but I knew we had a good team. So I called a save nade rush B tunnels and lower A. Our rush caught the Ts (who had fully bought) off guard and killed a good number of them. The bomb ended up being planted in A, but we had AKs now and were able to win the round. With our money now coordinated, we ended up winning the next 6-7 rounds and the score at the end was pretty close if I remember correctly. All attributed to a team that bought together. We can do better.

Re: Just putting it out there...
Personally, I save 2 rounds if my team lost pistol round. But it's just a force of habit, I tend not to think about money unless I'm scrimming.
When it comes down to it the point of the game is to have fun. In a public server there's no point calling anyone an idiot for not saving. Just follow the call and help out your team. Other than that buy whatever, whenever, you want.
