TPG supported GunGame Server

If TPG had a GunGame server up that was payed for by the community thru seperate donational areas and maintained by TPG management would you play there?
Server could be a simple game server that players send donations to via account owner tpg .
Thus when people stop paying the server goes down.
I think such a fun server would be good to promote the competive pubs,warm ups and also keep the tpg players under 1 roof .

Being a game server we could rent a 20 slot for 20 bucks a month at killergameservers.net for example ,it wont have the security , control or performance of a dedicated box but it will be active enough to be a fun server.

The idea isnt to rob players from the 2 pubs but to give the community a complete css gaming option under 1 roof.Simply if they want to play gg they will leave tpg and go elsewhere why not keep them in tpg alongside the reservist slots,admin management and most of all the tpg community support.

No - but only because i don't like gun game... not because i think its a bad idea that the community donate to support expanded servers.

No. Normal gun-game is not teamplay oriented, and few people liked objective-based gun game (based on feedback from the 'New SNFs').

Not to mention that TPG (or TTP at the time) had a gun game server and it mostly sat empty.

Yep but I know for A fact alot of tpg players play GG in non tpg servers now if TPG allowed for the community to pay for a game server means they lose nothing.
Throw a paypal banner up bam done.If the tier doesnt get met it goes down .The benefits out weigh the faults in this .

We`ll if you don`t like it dont pay for it.Thats the glory of it being community donations.
This server understood to be a fun server ,warmup or alt server at best and more importantly to keep the tpg community under 1 roof rather sending them to other communities .

Except TPG does lose. It loses by lending its name to a game-type/server that isn't conducive to or call for teamplay.

TPG has had a GG server in the past but it was removed due to lack of activity. not worth it.

no because TPG (and TTP) before it have tried more than one GG server over the years and they always wind up sitting empty relatively quickly after they are stood up.

So your saying losing players to other communities because tpg doesnt support game types they like is a good thing? Whats wrong with giving the community what it wants under 1 roof .Hell I would be happy to play in other servers if I knew they were ran by tpg and its administration .
Thier is no lose on a community payed for server that TPG can use a reservist base and advertisement base for its site and other servers.If anything we give the pubbers and fun servers what they want and show them the path to the other servers.

The servers dont have to be labeled tpg only ran by the tpg administration . Mainly Max I hate seeing people leave TPG when we could utilize those resources and more importantly fun value for our community.

I cant see the harm in trying ,throw a pay pal donation banner up to pay for the server if it gets payed for throw it up,if not take it down.We have 2x 24 player pubs and 1 is always empty do not tell me about wasting resources. Never are both full alundi.

This server will be donational responsible meaning no one donates the server goes down.Fun focused used as a gateway for promotion,warmup server and over all a tool to keep our members under 1 roof.I sit here a

l sit here all day and see where alot of my friends go and play and believe me it always TPG,it`s a mixture of different communites. Just because I dont like or do like something doesnt mean others shouldnt have a right to play it.
My point isnt that I like gg it`s that I like TPG enough enough to ask for it to support something others like for the community.

I am not saying that losing players to another server/community is a good thing. That's not it at all. Nor am I saying that your idea is without merit. However, I am saying that it won't work here. I am saying that the times that this was tried, at no cost to the members of TPG, it sat largely (better than 90%) empty and unused. There's little to be gained from having an empty server simply for the sake of saying that you have said server. If no one is playing there then there is no gain from having it in the first place. And if the server is donation only, meaning that the server automatically goes down if the donation $$ quota is not reached then it will be down more often than not. And at that point, does it matter either way because it's down.

I play GG everytime I load css for about two rounds then go to the TPG servers. It is a great warmup and I have noticed my shooting has improved some.

There was a time the GG server was very popular and did not sit empty. It was well configured and had fun maps. The last few tries where people remember it "sitting empty" were times when it was not configured right and didnt have good maps. The last go was for reservists only and was objective based to keep in line with teamplay. It was up for a couple weeks but limited to reservists it didnt pull enough players to stay strong.

Its not teamplay. It is fun and a great warmup that many of us enjoy but does not fall in line with the TPG standards. Just not gonna work here without giving up teamplay.
