DoD:S update Dec 22
Allied Garand is now more accurate
Allied 30cal machine gun is now more accurate
Made the garand sight ring larger when in iron sights.
Moved Axis k98 rifle iron sight model away from the player slightly.
View model no longer sways in iron sight mode
Decreased the recoil on the Allied Garand when in iron sights.
Fixed bug where Allied 30cal machine gun would remove stamina when firing an empty gun
Improved weapon pickup to search in radius around crosshair
Fixed prediction bug where players would get stuck together
Added an end of round statistics panel to highlight the most valuable contributors to the winning team.
Increased footstep volume
Updated firing sounds for both Allied and Axis machine guns.
Optimizations to lag compensation
there were more updates but these caught my eye the most.
will it worthwhile using the garand now?

ok the garand is awesome now, but people who hadnt used it before probably wont see much of a difference.
the ironsights are much better now, you can actually see whats going on, unlike the old ones.
the accuracy kicks ass too.
and maybe its just me.. maybe its just me.. but i think they might've messed with the k98 accuracy.... or it could just be me...
but if i was valve and lowered k98 accuracy i wouldnt release it to the public in hopes that mostly everyone wouldnt notice.. but i have noticed.. damn you valve
the footsteps are hella cool.
in donner, in the house with the two floors next to the tank, you can be in the bottom floor and hear people moving around up top without having to raise your volume, its pretty cool.
also, for some reason now the glossing on textures is everywhere, its like a big ass grease spill. (only if you havea good videocard)
when someone caps the last flag and wins the round, a little window will come up telling you who was the winning capper and the top 3 cappers for that round.
so far i like the update
oh btw if nobody else got the message, i keep getting "server out of date" when i try to join it.

I like how the garand is better now at least... but footsteps... wtf... they must of had too many MGers bitching... great... no mo shoveling...

i dont think an MG is going to do jack even if he hears a footstep, that pistol will only kill the suckiest players.

i know. i liked the quiet footsteps
. i was playing css for a little bit today, and as i was walking around, i'm thinking "holy fuck. is my character trying to stomp around like that and make so goddamn much noise?" it's pretty easy to run fairly silently. just takes a little control of the foot. there's no excuse for the footsteps being so goddamned loud.

even Sneak would have problems sneaking around IRL with combat boots...
