Exactly. And because white men were the predominant slave owners it's necessary to take pity on the poor black man and 'give him a break' whenever possible. None of these people were slaves. Not one. I do not care if anyone in their family was one at any point in time in the history of their family in the United States. They, the ones here and now, were not slaves. They deserve no special treatment what so ever. Equally, I, being white and never once having been a slave owner, or having anyone in my family being a slave owner (I have researched this), cannot be blamed for the actions of people who share a similar skin tone as I do who enslaved the blacks and began bringing them to the Americas 400 years ago.

Things would be much easier if we all were the same color, spoke the same langauge, and came from the same country, wouldn't they?

No one has insisted it is not a hate crime, only said there is no evidence to prove it is. As it stands, there is no evidence it was racially motivated - posting photos of the victims and suspects is not proof of a hate crime.
