Thread: Killed by a train?

So Kyle,Monkey, and me were just on the server playing with the elevator on Strand when we discovered that you can be killed by a train using the elevator...

If you go prone and let half your body be crushed by the train while leaving the other half out of it you somehow get killed by a train...

Just for the record Ficet, that was during a melee only fight. Nice try, but those don't count.

What is Valve's obsession with trains?

I used to fiddle with maps for DoD original. When making elevators, you used the "train" function. There might have been another function, can't remember, but train was the easiest to work with, I think. Elevators don't really do anything different than a train, moving platform, or any other object that moves along some fixed (albeit usually invisible) track. Ergo it's probably all just the train function back again in DoD:S. My guess would be that's why the game says you were killed by one. From it's perspective, you were! :P

Well what was funny was that when you jumped on the train or let it crush you, you just got the skull and crossbones, but when you only let half of your body get crushed it said killed by train...
