DoD update!!

The update is now live. The server to be updated.

[-]July 2, 2008 - Day Of Defeat: Source Palermo Update Available Now

Leveraging the recently released set of free services available in Steamworks, the Palermo Update adds 51 achievements to Day of Defeat: Source, player avatar displays in the scoreboard and win panel, and detailed player statistics that are integrated with the Steam Community features (www.steamcommunity.com).

In addition, this update adds support for popular features introduced in Valve's Team Fortress 2 (TF2), the PC title named multiplayer game of the year by Gamespy.com and PC Gamer. These include "nemesis/revenge" freeze cam and new effects driven by the particle system introduced to the Source engine for TF2.

Finally, this update also introduces a new map, Palermo, which is a remix of the most popular community map, dod_salerno, originally created by Magnar "insta" Jennsen.

sweet i started playing DOD earlier and i noticed the new valve logo, instead of the white guy and i was wondering if i had clicked the beta icon lol
turns out the 4 hours of sleep i had must of been while it was updating ...maybe lol

can i say right now, i hate the new ****ing update, at least the old dod i could actually play and have fun sometimes, this new update already taking the fun out of it for me. I thought the better CoF would make it fun, more competitive etc etc. nope it seems to me its just made it now so the good people dominate and people like me who wern't great at the game can't do anything but die.

So far, I love this update. I didn't expect it, but it feels as though this game actually runs better for me now.

My favorite part is that the bullets actually travel in the direction that I aim...

I played for a good 2 hours and i would have to say it was nice to pwn with the assault class but i dont like that fact that i cant get ontop of my buddies heads. Ironsights seemed to work nicer. Too bad then didnt make the melee better

I'm an achievement fanboy they make me happy when i get them.

Sucks that the mani mod doesnt work, a spammer got with a really annoying fanny pack song...Guyer knows what im talking about.

hehe.. no, i used every class except except machine gun last night... even the sniper rifle is better... that may have something to do with the game running better for me

YOU just remember my smg work because you were on the receiving end so much...
