Thread: How to install custom content in DoD:S

This is a guide on where to install custom skins, models, and sounds.

The following are the appropriate directories for installing custom content. Note that installation anywhere else will not work (obviously):

Player skins:
steam/steam apps/(Account Name)/day of defeat source/dod/materials/models/player/american or german

Player models:
steam/steam apps/(Account Name)/day of defeat source/dod/models/player/american or german

Weapon skins:
steam/steam apps/(Account Name)/day of defeat source/dod/materials/models/weapons/*v_models or w_models

Weapon models:
steam/steam apps/(Account Name)/day of defeat source/dod/models/weapons/*respective weapon folder

Hands/v_models (i.e. 1st Person Model Skin)
steam/steam apps/(Account Name)/day of defeat source/dod/materials/models/weapons/v_models/hands

Objective Icons:
steam/steam apps/(Account Name)/day of defeat source/dod/materials/sprites/obj_icons
Splash Screen:
steam/steam apps/(Account Name)/day of defeat source/dod/materials/Console

Player Icons:
steam/steam apps/(Account Name)/day of defeat source/dod/materials/sprites/player_icons

Sniper Scopes:
steam/steam apps/(Account Name)/day of defeat source/dod/materials/sprites/scopes

Crosshairs:
steam/steam apps/(Account Name)/day of defeat source/dod/materials/vgui/crosshairs

Sounds:
steam/steam apps/(Account Name)/day of defeat source/dod/sound/weapons, player, or ambient.
(Ambient sounds are sounds such as win round music, distant battle sounds, wind, etc.)

[u][color=red]Sprays (To remove them from your uploaded drop down menu):
Steam\SteamApps\(Account Name)\day of defeat source\dod\materials\VGUI\logos
Steam\SteamApps\(Account Name)\day of defeat source\dod\materials\VGUI\logos\UI
Delete both files with that sprays name.

When installing models, skins, sprites, etc. to a folder that you dont have, just right click and make a new folder in the last folder you do have. The folder you make should be labled accordingly.

[color=orange]* v_models and w_models folder names for specific guns (v_model is the weapon you see in first person view. The w_model is the weapon you see in other players' hands and on the ground).

NOTE: All paths should remain the same once the DoD:S Beta goes Gold.
