Can any bright computer guys help?
Ok, I have a wierd problem. Now whenever I try and connect to the Texas TeamPlayers Server it hangs up on 'connecting to server', then tells me it stops after four retries. I can connect to any other server, including the Texas II server, but not the main one. I've had this problem with any server I've played a lot. All of the sudden, I'll just lose the ability to connect? I havent been banned, and my ping is great. So what gives? I've tried a few of the troubleshooting tips I've found on steam.com, but no avail. Not have I found this specific problem on any bug list or anything. Do I need to reinstall DOD? Could there be something on the server that's blocking me? There are plenty of smart, computer saavy people out there that love a good mystery. Any takers?

RE: oh and...
How do you try and connect to the server? There are two or three different ways to connect. I would try each of the three.
1)right click your steam icon and click on servers. You can search servers through here and then add TTP1 to your favorites and connect that way.
2) Open up DOD, search for TTP1 and try and connect
3) Open up DOD, then open up console and type in "connect 74.52.41.162:27016" without that ""
If none of those three work, post back here and somebody else can try.

RE: ok
make sure in options you enable console by going through one of the advanced options.
I think it is options, advanced, enable console. It should look like this ~
when you press that button (the one above your tab button), it will bring up console. My thought is that if it didn't work with the first two, then there is something else going on. Make sure you haven't accidentally blocked the server or some firewall isn't stopping it.

RE: ok
Did you happen to have anyone else connected in the same sever under the same IP? I get that error every time when I try to join a server with bro on CS.

RE: ok
Try this out ...(assuming you are using Windows OS) Click on Start, all programs, Accessories, Comand Prompt. Once the command prop opens type in ping 74.52.41.162 this will show if you can communicate with the server and if you are getting packet loss. Also try tracert 74.52.41.162 this will show the path you connect and also how long it takes packets to reach the server anyting over 30-40 ms on any hop is a long time. Try that first and if all that checks out good let me know and we can go from there.
