Am I the old man now?
So, I have been playing a little bit more lately, now that I have the computer...and I feel like I am the old man who just wants to win all the time. I hate all the stupid chatter, I miss the days when everyone starts calling out where the players are and getting good strats to win the game.
Maybe it happens more when I am not on, but every time I am on, I feel like the old Dome who would just bitch at everyone if they were not playing as a team...
Either way, I hope we can keep the juvenile bickering out of the game, work together and win some rounds. If any of you have played with me, you know I like to call where I am going and you know I tell you when the other guys are coming. I know my old school guys, G, Bullet, Guyver and others still do it a little, but we use to do A LOT...plus, it is way more fun to win as a team than not. I don't even mind losing as a team when I know we are working together.
Ok, old man out!

I do it all the time, in fact, people were telling me that I was giving "too much" of a play by play last night...so I don't know.

unless there are less than 4 on the server, I vote for all talk to be off and I play serious TTP style all the time.
Goofing off is fine for priming, but when there is enough people on each side to cap any flag, its game-on as far as I am concerned.Sleep, eat, conquer, meditate, repeat.

i think brolotto is right...unless there are a lot of regulars on the pub there doesn't seem to be much strategy going on... we need to have more regulars coming in to play...lately we have been getting a lot of douchebags coming in and just killing it for everyone else..

I've been getting my feet wet in DOD this week and I have yet to see any strategizing going on.
A handful of guys at least call out what's going on, and that's about it.
I call out what I see, but that's about the best I can do since I don't know the maps very well and what locations are called.

You are not alone. I think when the regs are on is the best timet o play . WE tend to call things out and ask certain people to take care of them (depending on their skill).

I just want to point out that it is normal for non-reg's to come in and not call the shots, that is why they are not regulars. It is our job to show them how we do things around here. I don't mind being friendly, but I CAN'T STAND DYING when I know there is someone that could have said something to help me get our team further.
I have run the Light/Heavy class far more often than I run any other weapon and it is nice to know from a sniper that there are three guys down the way. It is also nice to know that an MG is around a corner that has previously been open. Our job is to help each other move forward as a team so that all of us can be successful and win...or at least fight to stay alive. I think it is our job to show people, especially non reg's what has led us all to be here, even if DOD is an ADD game when it feels like you are never stopping. That is what keeps me coming back. I love the challenge of working with my team to get our team that last flag cap.
Like I said, if you have heard me on lately, I probably almost sound grumpy but that is the reason that I put this topic in place. I want people to know that I am playing for fun, but I still want to know where that dang MG is....

Re: Am I the old man now?
I think we could all step it up a couple notches. There are some regulars that I rarely even hear on the mic. I communicate where I am going, what my intentions are, and what I see along the way.
What I would like to see is some strategy develop. Let's take it a step past just calling out enemies. I realize that the gameplay is inherently reactionary but I don't think that precludes us from having a general strategy of how we are going to hold what we have already captured and how we are going to capture what we have not, and who is going to do which.
