    GameMe Settings?

There has been talk (and some complaining) among the regulars and players in the server wondering how the GameMe ranking system works. (And why sometimes it makes absolutely no sense, seeming completely random)

Example: Me and Rock were on the winning team (we started on allies won, then went to axis and won) both doing well, He went up 67 points I went down 88, both of us being about the same rank.

On the TF2 server, player points just seem to go up and up with play time (for the most part) but in the DoD server everyone's points seem to stay around 10K.

What setting can TPG control in GameMe? Someone mentioned in the server that other DoD server's GameMe stats are cumulative like our TF2, so I looked through the global GameMe database.

Examples (For comparison purposes only, not advertising): ONE (20k range) | TWO (100k range)

Does this maybe have something to do with the fact that there is most likely a higher volume of not only players, but regular players?

if you kill lower rank players you dont gain as much as killing players with a higher rank. If your deaths are to higher rank players you lose less than dieing to lower rank players.

Combination of the two. When the servers get full, most players are typically non-regs (or at least not common regs). So in essence, full servers see a flooding of lower ranked players (but not necessarily less skilled players) so higher ranked players tend to take a hit from that, even when doing well.

Right. We understand how it all works, but I believe he was wondering why does the TF2 top player's points seem to rise continually, yet Dod's top player's points average out around 9-10k.

In DoD your points come mostly from kills, you gain a few lose a few. When gaining points from kills there is a plus and a minus. Plus on the killer minus on the death. The only "new" points are gained from captures. In TF2 there are dozens of actions that create points without kills. Buildings, assists, ubers, etc. Also in TF2 you can be awarded bonus points for who and how you kill them. I can go 2-30 and gain 300 points in TF2. Next map I can play a different class and go 21-20 and only gain 50 points. TF2 awards points for far more events. In DoD you rely on high KDR and captures.

    Re: GameMe Settings?

On the second servers stats that insane posted they award 1000 points for earning godlike, and other normal actions score big as well. We award 4 points for a 4 kill streak, server ONE awards 3, server TWO awards 20. They have tweaked the system so it generates more possible points.

So I guess the answer to insane's question of what can TPG control, all the actions scores can be valued at whatever point value.

    Re: GameMe Settings?

Here's a thought - Play against one another rather than just being on the same team with a the only other high ranked player on the server.

Not only will spreading out people who use their mics help TPG grow rather than just destroying random connections and continuing to push people away from a dying game, but you will also lose a lot less points dying to a regular than you will dying to random connects.
