Now tell me Avalanche isn't biased towards the Axis....
DoD - War Status Report
EVERY other map is pretty even in terms of wins/losses.
Those stats are not even being updated/tracked anymore....but, you see my point.

According to our map stats on game me, argentan and kalt are even more biased towards Axis. Donner and colmar are the only ones with bias towards the allies, and both are slight.

Re: Now tell me Avalanche isn't biased towards the Axis....
How are our map stats any more relevant than those? Those are global.
If those stats were still being tracked, it would be the same (60%/40%) if not worse. ANY vet DoD player (and I'm not talking DoD:S here, either) will tell you that Avalanche is Axis biased.....and they'll tell you that without blinking an eye. The map has been in the game almost since the beginning. (Beta 2.0 February 6th, 2002)
The map wasn't changed that much when it was ported to the new engine, either.
The Axis have the better Sniper and MG spots.
The Axis are going downhill, the Allies are going uphill.
It ain't rocket science.
EDIT:
My point is that space is under the mistaken illusion that Avalanche isn't horribly one-sided.Last edited by Guyver; 09-12-11 at 02:27 AM.

Those are the only ones relevant to me. Besides, any other server I've played on, allied players sit back, especially on avalanche. Sitting back as allies on avalanche is just waiting to lose.

used to be more lopsided to axis when you could jump barriers and get behind allies.... now at least they gave the allies a bit of a running start. although not that much. harder to fight uphill as it is even in real battles.

Winning on Ava as allies is not hard, you just need a well disciplined team, whos focus is on controlling church and apartments. The problem is that unless you are willing to enforce calls on a pub server you will never get such a team. Axis has defenders advantage basically. Its not that it cannot be overcome its that you need to play as a team to overcome it and most jackasses who are on the allied side in the general population don't. If you have a terrible axis team they can get rolled like anybody else, and I have seen this happen.

09-12-11, 04:32 AM #9This is old news, Guyver. Everyone knows the allies have a disadvantage. It doesnt make the map any less fun. It just demands more teamwork and coordination than the cookie cutter maps.

Avalanche needs the back way into Church from Allies sniper window (above 2nd) back to help with balance.
We can do better.
