    Re: VFK by May

Today was a glorious day. Both sides planned to full form to defend an important IHUB in CO2 space in Tribute. Systems peaked at about 4k total pilots, but good guys had more in reserves. After multiple difficult battles in 10% TiDi Good Guys started controlling the battles. We eventually held all of the fields, and killed the IHUB. Shortly after CO2 announced they were leaving the CFC thus weakening the empire. It will take hours for the kills to all update, and I will report back with kills/losses.

    Re: VFK by May

The fight was so large that the battle report tool doesn't even load it properly, so I will give you a brief breakdown:

The battles took place over 7 different systems, and lasted about 4.5 hours.

CFC had 1503 pilots involved, and MBC(Money Badger Coalition) had 3600 for a total of over 5100 combatants. This doesn't count peoplewho did other valuable things, but were not involved in any kills or deaths.

CFC lost 1720 ships, and MBC lost 2062 for a total of almost 3800 ships lost.

CFC lost 320 billion isk worth of ships and fittings, and MBC lost 120 billion. To put this in perspective one month of game time costs just over 1 billion isk in game, or $15 US. 441B isk would have a real world value of $6,615.

By no means is this the biggest, bloodiest, or most expensive fight in the history of EVE, but it is the biggest battle since CCP Games changed the way sov mechanics worked last year. Goons, leaders of the CFC, say they will continue to stand and fight for their remaining space, and MBC says we hope they do.

VFK is no longer the actual home of Goons, but is the long time ancestral home, and is the subject of many jokes and memes including the infamous VFK by May. This time it may actually be VFK by April as CO2 reinforced all 3 sov structures in VFK today, and the timers come out around 2:30 EST on Friday. It is very possible this could be the biggest single battle in the history of EVE in terms of players involved.

They do, but the actual conflict isn't super entertaining.

TNT, another CFC alliance, lost their home system today. The CFC chose not to fight as TNT had already evacuated much of their assets from the station over the last week or so. The pain train just keeps rolling.

    Re: VFK by May

Yesterday the MBC suffered a slight setback in their advances. It wasn't a major blow in terms of losing a massive battle, but we did lose a timer that we wanted because we got there late. UQ9 is the current staging system for 2 CFC alliances, and we failed to arrive in time to contest the IHUB timer because of massive tidi along the route. We did stick around and freeport(now anyone can dock and use the station, not just CFC and those they deem worthy) the station, and in a couple of days the IHUB and station will both be fought over again.

MBC didn't even bother to contest VFK. The Mittani, CFC dear leader, announced on his state of the goonion that setting their sov timers to EU time zone was a bad idea, especially with CO2 flipping sides, so they would reset it for a better for them TZ. We all had high hopes for USTZ fun, but lo and behold they chose Australian time. So either no sleep or no fun for me for a while I guess.

There are currently 135 sov timers in current/former CFC controlled space. Some of these will go uncontested because the CFC has already abandoned the space. Others could see some good fights. All of the timers can be found at https://timerboard.net/WorldWarBee

    Re: VFK by May

The past week was quite interesting. Referring back to the map I first linked in the OP there have been many drastic changes since the war began. As mentioned the CFC owned/controlled the giant yellow blob in the top left extending right to Get Off My Lawn, and up and right to Razor Alliance. Since the war started the following has happened in each region.

Vale of the Silent - Both LAWN and Bastion announced they were abandoning their space, and moving to low sec where goons are currently staged.
Tribute - Co2 has left the CFC, and joined in with the MBC. TNT has not made an official announcement about leaving, but their staging system has been captured, and they have been seen evacuating mass assets. The majority of their remaining sov is reinforced, and will fall this week.
Tenal - INIT have conceded most of their space, and moved to NPC null in Syndicate to do "fun things" there instead of fighting with their allies. Razor is nowhere to be found, and their sov will likely burn down next.
Branch - FCON lost their staging system this weekend, and have retreated to another system in Branch. EXE hasn't really been seen, but their space is deeper into branch, and likely won't get his until more of Branch and/or Tenal is taken by MBC.
Fade - SMA lost the majority of Fade this weekend and announced they too were moving to LS with Goons.
Pure Blind - A few systems have changed hands, and others are reinforced. The majority of PB is owned by goons and SMA, so it likely won't be contested. I expect more advances into PB this week.
Deklein - The long standing goon motherland. VFK was saved, as in the MBC didn't even show up for the timers, and nothing is really happening here. Most/all of the PVP assets active goons have already moved to LS, but there are many who still have PVE assets, and many more who are AFK and have everything they own, in this region. It will be interesting to see if the CFC puts up a final stand for Dek, or if the war will be over by the time the MBC gets there.
