it appears with the hotfixes they are potentially nerfing this where you arent ridiculously OP.
Skill Rune - Force Armor
Amount of damage absorbed from a single attack will now cap at 100% of a player’s maximum Life
I guess that means any attack that does 30%-100% of your health in dmg will = 30% dmg taken. And >100% will instagib you as expected. So you will still need armor/health hard.

when dealing with bosses i prefer crystal shell because most of them can smash your diamond skin in 1 hit and if you run into any environment when trying to escape its good to be able to absorb a second hit.
when im out n about I prefer prism so i can disintegrate longer.

I'd advise you to pick at set of skills and runes to stay with 100% of the time. The NV buff is not something one should scoff at.
I've gone to these skills:
Ice nova with cold snap.
Makes kiting easier
Venom hydra
Can kite mobs through puddles and then freeze them
Eg armor
With the 60 rune for greater resists.
Archon with the Dmg bump
I rarely use archon. It's a nice oh! shit button.
Main skills are magic missiles with seekers, or spec blades with life gain.
Secondary is orb with celestial rune.
Not sure how good a model I am to follow. As ive got 39k HP, and 60% dr.
But I enjoy it.

yes now that I am 60 i am likely sticking to my boss fight build. I just hit 60 last night as i was finishing hell.
also in hell + i dont feel that I can justify using archon. It is definitely a great ability to use in normal and nightmare but i feel it isnt available enough to use it in a non OH SHIT scenario.Last edited by Cojiro; 05-25-12 at 12:30 PM.

Oh shits happen every 247 seconds for me. That's about the length of time between blue/yellow/purple encounters in inferno for me. And those are holy shit moments.
What are you slotting over archon? I'm curious.
My next build thought if I can get the gear is to swap archon for liquified meteor, and stack increased critical damage. Should be a well, a ton of damage.. Looking at 40k a hit without much effort.

Images, I don't like them. 30% of my HP might be alright. But it spreads my enemy out. I like them bunched frozen and eating my aoe. Casting V hydra in the middle of a pack and watching the numbers roll as 3 orbs roll over turning things into goo. Plus I'd everything I fight decides to go 5 different ways, well then I have to consider which way to run. And I do a ton of running. I'd rather not limit my escape routes.
