Some serious people think so.
Interesting to say the least. They're also starting a kickstarter project to raise the capital for funding.
They look to have some industry name investors as well.

Today, thousands of Apple faithful lined up at Apple Stores across the U.S. to see the result: iBox.
iBox has no touchscreen, no battery and no software. But what it lacks in technology, it makes up for in magic. As Apple’s press release explains, “iBox is pure imagination — the first Apple product that can be whatever you want it to be.”

The Escapist : News : Update: Open Source Android Console Fully Funded with $1 Million
Update: Since I originally posted this story three hours ago, the Kickstarter campaign to fund the Ouya Android console doubled its funding total. The campaign is fully funded with more than $990,000 raised, and by the time I press the publish button, the total will likely be more than $1 million. I guess the little startup Ouya struck a nerve.

Jesus. Day 1 of their Kickstarter and they nearly have 1.5 million dollars in backing. This thing looks like it's going to go far.
