Re: New Game by Freelancer/Wing Commander creator
I'm a little biased lately as I have seen traditional MMORPGs kinda take a downward spiral with nothing really innovative, thus my negativity toward that 'stereotype' if you will. I see multiplayer games as the future of PC gaming and ones with the capacity to mod like this one says it will even more attractive to gamers.
Yes, this has me excited. I love sci fi games and we have been in the 'fantasy doldrums' for a long time.

I am stupidly excited about the game now. It won't be released for years though, so I REALLY need to forget about it for awhile to save me some pain.
I've watched the trailer, extended trailer, crowd-funding pitch and the actual GDC announcement panel and read all the stuff.
The 'Visual Prototype' they have right now, a 'playable' bit of 'gameplay', amazed me and told me it actually has serious potential to be one of the best Space Sims ever created.Last edited by Blah64; 10-10-12 at 05:37 PM.

After watching the GDC panel, I have to say that it is definitely not a 'traditional' MMO experience. He compares it to 'Demon Souls', but it also sounded kinda like 'Dawn of Fantasy'. It sounds like you travel about on your own or with friends in a single-player/co-op experience, but then if something happens like you are attacked, a 'battle instance' pops up where people can join to fight.
