Re: Project Reality: We might have been asleep, but they sure weren't....
I played a ton of PR mostly at Hardcore before they had their PR license revoked. Ive played it the past couple of weeks. The map rotations are different. They have a map similar to Normandy and a Vietnam battle. If TPG decided to play PR they should consider changing the server rules to naming squads with objectives or assets. They did not do this in the past. This is very important in PR as it keeps squads focused and player just can't camp for assets. As a long time PR player there is no way populate the server without that rule. I also looked into the Arma 2 mod for PR which after playing Dayz I believe would be cool. Unfortunately there are no servers running PR for Arma 2 so its dead. Most play Aces which seems it may be similar.

Wasteland for ARMA looks a lot like PR but players can build bases in it and it is a persistent world.

We always have a huge blast of players every time the new versions are released (yearly). After 6 to 8 months though, players dwindle down because maps get a little stale... That is the beauty of PR, that always have a multitude of new maps with every version, so the game server numbers only stay down for a little bit and then comes the new version and all the excitement all over again. There sure aren't many developers putting out new games, so it kept us all something to enjoy.
We could have cut down on some of the CSS servers or more the L4d servers and the DoD server, but didn't need to do that either, because PR did not use many resources, but provisions could have been made, so those of us that were PR players, could enjoy a server here instead of having to go out somewhere else to play, where most of our friends were not.
Maybe we can host the New version.
