Star Citizen Caterpillar sold until noon Monday

The Drake Interplanetary Caterpillar is back for sale until noon Monday, September 24th for $225. This is just the ship and does not include a game package. Remember all ships will be attainable in the game through normal play. I just figured I would post this for people that wanted to pledge for one and missed it before.

I have my exploration ship that I'll use to make to fill my business hangar with toys. I'm also planning on picking up the modding book to make toys for the TPG server /winksathighadmins

Well, there is a single player mission arc a la Wing Commander. We can also host our own server, although I'm not sure if that means just a pvp server or a mini-universe on a box. Blah or Al or Wile would probably know more.

Regardless, since we be able to put custom worlds and ships and ... into the servers TPG could host, I can see lots of options for "reserve slots" and...for making ~~Polaris class~~ special ships for admins that are totally not rip offs of the Eve GM ships that we can use to wtfpwn hackers and non-teamplayers.

There is no subscription. You just buy the game, then the main server will have F2P elements.

Star Citizen will not require a subscription to play. Basically you buy the game or pledge for a package that contains the game and you can play. They plan on making additional money with micro transactions on 'flair' based items so they continue to support the game after release and keep creating content at regular intervals. CIG (Cloud Imperium Games) have stressed that anything gameplay wise will be available to purchase with in game currency you earn by playing the game so there is no pay to win. Also the ability to pledge for ships will go away once the game launches.

You can currently subscribe for additional perks that are not in-game related to also help out costs especially for wingman's hangar show ( Wingman's Hanger - YouTube .) For instance:
- Access to special subscriber forum
- Access to additional artwork and media
- Jump Point digital monthly magazine (you gain older issues retroactively ie. I subscribed in July and gained access to all of the previous months.)

The $20/month (Imperator) gives you several other benefits (one they discontinued to new Imperator subscribers is the ability to visit their offices once a year in exchange for 15% off coupon and VIP entrance to any Star Citizen fan event.)
