Rust Server Population and Future
I think it is safe to say that unless server pop picks up by the end of the month, we need to let the TPG Rust server go.
5-10 max players a night makes for an uninteresting game. It is minecraft and loot hoarding 101, and not a survival game. This has been the chatter going on in TS and now on the forums so here is the place to let your opinion/voice heard.
This game does not have the support of the community, at least not in its current state, and I do not see that changing anytime soon.

Re: Rust Server Population and Future
Its doing better than most of the other TPG servers. i haven't even seen one player in BF4 in a while. Also Roll Tide!

Re: Rust Server Population and Future
the problem is 5 to 10 is not enough to support a game like rust. There is no shame in saying we tried, not at all. At least we did that, and we should continue to do that with every game that is available.
I say let it go, it was a good run, it just can't sustain.

So how do we get more than 5-10? I think Scion has part of the answer right when he says:
But if I play DayZ on BMRF, then when I start playing RUST why would I choose TPG over BMRF again? How do we reach those who are playing elsewhere, and how do we convince them they are better off playing here?

We have good portion of players who will buy a game because we have a Server. Lets recruit those to be admins. they obviously care enough to buy the game and support it and us(tpg).
I supposed a good deal of those are already Admins. Heck we got one high/Red hat who has 600+ games already.
Lets get more focus on the Game Discussions forum. See a new thread? READ IT. Check the game out.
Can we get the Media Folks to on a list to get Early reviews of games?
This is a Win Win just with that list alone.....
Our Big thing is we have MANY more Active Admins than any other community. That is a SELL right there. That's a full on conversion. Baptised and going to communion. Praying to the east conversion.Last edited by SmokenScion; 02-14-14 at 05:37 PM.

Re: Rust Server Population and Future
Chances are low you are going to pull someone in from an established group/community unless they become dissatisfied. We need to focus on the random connects. And we do that by being one of the first choices when the game launches. Emulate our success with Arma3. We were the top server in the world because we were one of the first to get a server up and admin it properly.SmokenScion liked this post

Re: Rust Server Population and Future
I think we need to post to FB when we have news!
Even though only a few of us "like" it currently, if TPG posts something, that gives all our followers a chance to share, like and/or comment. Those folk's friends will see it and so on.
I really think our community as a whole could benefit, across games and servers."The bravery of idiots is bravery none the less."
