I've been waiting for reviews for this game to come out because I'm excited to see what people had to say about it. I'm shocked to see such a split.
PC gamer praises the game's art direction and world creation, calling it "...the most visually striking game world since Deus Ex: Human Revolution". They gave it a surprisingly high score of 93/100. That's high praise, and I typically agree with PC gamer for the most part on a lot of their reviews.

IGN on the other hand, gives it a 5.9/10 - essentially saying the game loses it's mojo after the initial hours of the game.

Gamespot says "This is four hours' worth of a great idea stretched into 14-plus hours of messy stealth gameplay, creaky video game cliches, and limp exploration." to justify it's score of 6/10.

I for one am going to play the game regardless; I'm a sucker for good world-building, stealth gameplay, and the screenshots look killer. Also, I have good faith in Creative Assembly's ability to make quality games. I'm just curious to see what anybody here at TPG has to say about the game, especially after the disaster of Alien: Colonial Marines. Perhaps this game is targeting a specific audience and failed to get the same respect of certain gamers that it got from others? Who knows, but I can't wait to play itLast edited by salty99; 10-03-14 at 04:34 PM. Reason: Forgot a link

I'm going to buy it, but I'm not pre-ordering it...or paying full price.
The game also has nothing to with AC:M, other than the universe. It's a totally different developer.maximusboomus liked this post

IGN is the worst review company ever. The complaints against them taking bribes for review scores are likely very true. Look at their track record of reviews on Metacritic:
429 Slow down
What surprises me is how low their score is for this game. I wonder who paid them off this time. Some publisher that doesn't want this game to sell? Some jealous competition? Who knows?
So you guys are aware, a lot of game developers get paid bonuses for their work based on the Metacritic review averages (both critic and user review ratings). This has caused a lot of controversy because some review outlets tend to typically give a significantly higher than average rating, and when this happens, many other "honest" reviewers question if there was any outside influence on the final review scores.
Not to mention, game developers that get their bonus based off of game review scores often finding themselves catering to the review audience instead of taking chances on new and unique things. IGN is a big part of this, and I simply don't trust, nor do I read their reviews any longer.
If you want a reviewer you can trust, check out Angry Joe on Youtube.

Yeah, I watch Joe all the time as well.
I just heard that if you have the Kinect for the Xbox, you can turn on an option that has the Kinect translate any sounds it captures into the game, so you can get yourself killed by crying like a little girl in real life while you try and hide under a desk. Hopefully the PC version will have a similar option for PC Mics.

The one and only Jim Sterling loved this game and gave it a honest review.

I am buying it for a PC, i am in a need of something else than a gun blazing dumb corridor fps game ala BF4 or CoD

You know who's a sucker for Alien games? This guy. I wasn't going to preorder it and didn't. Seems some folks just don't like because of the game style. I'm looking for a realism, Rust meets Skyrim meets Aliens.
I'll be on point for this one.Dispatch the DooM

Alien: Isolation Review - Giant Bomb
Looks like another positive review. I love Giantbomb and I don't think anyone can even come close to their honesty. Jeff Gerstmann is as big of a name in gaming as there is and after losing his job at Gamespot for giving Kane and Lynch a bad review and refusing to succumb to pressure to raise the score, he has earned my respect.
That being said, this game does seem like it's not for everyone. After reading the game's positive reviews and negative reviews, this definitely seems like my type of game.
