    The Witcher 3

I don't seem to see any mention of this game anywhere on here.

Is no one but me playing this game. It is so good.....

sure there is tons of hate/anger over it and a graphics demo shown years ago vs the art direction they went in.....
but the game is probably the best looking game I have seen.

I am traveling for work right now, so I work long days... only getting maybe 30-60 minutes of gameplay each day.... but I would love to know if anyone else is playing this as well.

Yeah, it's weird, I haven't really seen many people on my friends list playing lately. I thought everyone and their mom was going to be playing it?

I have it though, been frantically trying to finish #2 first, but work has been nuts so I haven't been able to get much time in lately. I'm hoping over the next couple weeks I can finish number #2, then I can start #3 early to mid June.

I have a list I've been planning out all winter of which games I want to set aside to beat this summer.

#1 Dragon Age: origins (just finished)
    #2 Witcher 2 (Just Started)
    #3 Witcher 3
    #4 Dragon Age Inquisition

There are a few other games I've been wanting to play as well but those might fall back into Fall/Winter

#5 Deus Ex: Human Revolution (Started long ago, never finished)
#6 Syndicate (been meaning to play this for years but never have)
#7 Splinter Cell: Blacklist (Also started, but never finished)
#8 Alien Isolation (Actually like #2 on the list of games I want to play, but I'm saving this one for winter break)

Seeing all the games I want to play but utterly fail at finding time to play them makes me even sadder...

The game is Gorgeous. The few hours I've played have been well written and the voice acting is fantastic.

but the trees man. they bug the crap out of me.

A lot of my IRL friends have it on GOG. I'm waiting for a sale. A cheapo game here and there I can do but not full retail even with the 20% off thing they were doing at GOG.

The devs actually did an interview about the graphics. They did have to make launch decisions based upon the other consoles in order to have the budget to make the game they wanted. The downgrade was due to a change in the rendering engine though. The one they used for the reveal would have worked well in the past games, but in an open world game it would have killed game performance even on Heavy's new rig. It had other rendering disadvantages compared to the one they went with beyond performance issues as well. They are working to fix things as soon as players find them though, so this probably won't turn into AC: Unity.

Do you have the expansion/side mission for Human Revolution? If yes, you should have been given a copy of the director's cut for free. If no, the director's cut is worth picking up. The expansion is now integrated and boss fights have more options.

Also, both DA:O and Witcher 2 have mods! DA:O ones are a little harder to use, but the Witcher 2 ones work easily. Witcher 2: Stuff like better textures, removing the darkened vision from the special difficulty weapons if you don't like it, starting with all skills in the training tree since you're already a fully trained witcher, etc. Some mods do conflict, but a lot of the conflicts can be solved by combining xml file changes into a single file. Pretty trivial with any tool that let's you compare 2 files line by line.

Also, there are these hidden bonuses you can get (and later view in the level up screen) by accomplishing certain tasks. See abilities (Warning: some spoilers) Character attributes - The Witcher Wiki

Well, if you own a titan X you can get a free copy of the witcher 3 through Nvidia.....

I think that might only apply to me on these forums, however.

I only have space in my rig for a single graphics card.... so I always go for the fastest one.

Though I have looked into ways to split a 16x PCIe slot into two 8x slots..... its not supported by my motherboard, as far as I can tell. Plus then I would have to get super creative with how I mount a second video card in an already small case.

If you can afford a Titan X you can afford a bigger case. And probably a bigger house to put it in.
