    Hmmm, hopefully it'll have a good MP system. Renegade was alright, but the MP sucked from what little I saw.

    the only real problem with it, for me at least, was the retarded amount of ammo it took to kill someone unless you were using something obnoxiously expensive like the rail gun.

    well that, and lack of voice.


    i'm still waiting for EA to wise-up and make Battlefield:C&C

    Except the vehicles in Battlefield are inherently unbalanced because they're invulnerable to most weaponry. Make it more like Quake Wars and UT :P

    Pretty much. It worked out just fine for UT2k4. Besides, it would be correct with C&C games, unless things changed with the Tiberium arc - infantry could destroy tanks with their assault rifles just fine. Of course, tanks would generally kill them first :P

    that's ridiculous. If you aren't supposed to cower in fear when mechanized vehicles come rolling by and all you've got is a machine gun and a few grenades....then why have tanks in the game?

    I hated that in 1942, people could nade spam a tank to death. Stupidest thing ever.

    Everyone has their role to play. Sure, being in a tank means mg's can't kill you. but it also means you have to move slowly, are a giant target, and have limited mobility/evasion options.

    2142 doesn't allow armored vehicles to be damaged by anything other than anti-armor weapons. nades do nothing, and small arms fire does nothing. Same in BF2.

    Man glock....you've spent too much time thinking you have to take care of all threats with your single kit all by yourself. Get some teammates, and stop playing solo.

    I listened to a guy (via chat) on the opposite team whine for 15 minutes last night about how the vehicles in 2142 are over powered. He was pissed because I wouldn't let him take MY hotel flag and kept killing him with my APC.

    I told him if he didn't want to die from my over powered APC, then he should keep his stupid ass out of the way of my shells. Needless to say he didn't listen and I continued to paste his ass to that wall he was hiding behind.

    I don't buy the "everything is balanced because you have a squad" routine. A good squad will have an engineer or two, but if your squad leader wants a couple of you to go sneak to a point and try to take it, and you don't have an engineer with you, you're dogmeat for the first vehicle that shows up, unless it's something puny like an FAV or maybe a speeder.

    People say to simply respawn as Engineer if you need to take care of a vehicle, and I'll do that when it's practical or I'm ordered to, but it takes 15 seconds to respawn, and by time that comes up, the point you need to defend may have been turned over, the vehicle may have been destroyed by someone else, or the vehicle may have simply moved on.

    2142 is fun, don't get me wrong, but I hate feeling useless in a situation, and it seems that against vehicles, I'm often in that situation because the best I can do is throw EMP grenades at them if I'm support, or go hide in a corner if I'm assault.
