STALKER 1 was indeed pretty ugly, but then again no one has ever heard of the X-ray engine. What it did pretty well in was weather, sound, and sight. If you sprinted, you actually made a lot of noise, and enemies could hear your from far away, but if you crouched and moved, you made less noise so you could actually sneak up on people. Light also made a difference: If you stepped into the light people could see you, but if you moved into the dark you were harder to see.
After watching the E3 HD video, all I had to say to myself was "holy SHIT, that was the most beautiful display of Direct X 10 that I've ever seen." I expect the system requirements to be pretty high, but that video was BEAUTIFUL, and it wasn't even at a high resolution (the video itself).
I enjoyed Shadow of Chernobyl, so I'll probably get this and edit the files so I can use pistol ammo in my MP5. I hope they get weapon name rights this time."In matters of style, swim with the currents... in matters of principle, stand like a rock."

You should check with your local Gamestop. A lot of them got the initial shipments (the ones with the misprinted cover which caused the delay) before the publisher stopped them. If you're cool with them or happen to know someone that works there, they'll probably sell it to you. Just got my copy today. Only thing wrong with it is the back cover shows the backstory in two languages instead of the backstory and the game features in English.
So, yeah... apparently it takes nearly two weeks to fix that.

Ok so I upgraded my ak 74 ( I spent a lot of money) it was well worth it, but I would like to know where can I find a scope to put on my ak.
Does anyone have knowledge on scopes that are not originally on the gun.

Re: S.T.A.L.K.E.R: Clear Sky
Can someone who has bought the game give me the run down. I want a review from someone trustworthy, not a gamespot.com or some such. Perhaps a rating system like 1-10 on Gameplay, Video, Sound, Story, and Overall and then any comments you have on each subject would be helpful. Also a recommendation on who should buy this game. If anyone would like to take the time to help everyone out that would be splendid.
Thanks!
