Starcraft is an older game, and you may run into graphics issues.

This might not be part of this topic, but I DO know the answer to this one. The problem is Xfire. In order to make this go away, you HAVE to make sure xfire in-game is disabled for Starcraft.

Go to your xfire main menu. Go to Tools --> Options --> Games --> Starcraft in the list --> Check "Disable Xfire In-Game"

For the OP's problem, I'd go with what Arreo's suggesting. My friend used Starcraft on my Vista hard drive and had color and fuzziness problems. I booted into my XP hard drive and had 0 problems.

I'd run it in compatibility mode for Windows XP SP2 and.... most likely 256 colours.

Windows 7 users- When playing Starcraft you must:

Start Starcraft
>Alt Tab out

Ctrl-Alt-Del (Ctrl-Shift-Esc = fast way)
>Processes tab
>>Find explorer.exe and kill it.

Alt Tab to Starcraft
>Play Starcraft!

This fixes the color issues.

Note: To restart explorer.exe!
Ctrl-Alt-Del (Ctrl-Shift-Esc = fast way)
>Applications tab
>>New Task
>>>explorer.exe
>>>>OK
