    Re: Borderlands PC Patch Released

Welcome to the world where a great game is made for console first and PC porting is an afterthought with probably one or two guys in charge of it...

With the consoles if it works with one console it works with the other, they are all identical and work off the same hardware. With a PC they have not only the internal PC hardware, but the router(s) to work with and different types of connections.

I honestly think they were placing more bets with console sales than us PC folks.

I got mine to work with port forwarding, but I have run other types of servers through my computers before and knew how to do it.

Which is unfortunate because it seemed like a PC game first. I hope they change the game up for us with updates.

I agree, it should be the other way around especially since it is an FPS and we all know they started on pc's. However, not all consoles are the same, the PC and 360 are the ones that are almost identical which makes for easier ports and the ps3 is different and harder to program for. that is why you see more 360 games ported to pc than ps3 games being ported to pc.

The reason I think devs are doing this is because not everyone knows enough about comps to be able to upgrade or even understand the system requirements and it's a lot easier to just buy a console. That way you don't have to worry about system req's or anything of that sort. You just buy the console and buy the games and you're set.

    Bullshit me?
Even if I do dislike how it didn't have co-op right out of the box, it's such a simple workaround, it's simply amazing that you are raging about it. You sign into your network, and open the ports. It honestly is SOO fucking simple Corpse. And even once you did that, here's what you do and it's worked as a failsafe EVERY TIME I'VE PLAYED.
You create a private game, invite someone, let it time out, and then join your SP game (or the other way around) and invite them. Works like a charm.

So take your rage elsewere, I honestly don't see how logging on to your router and forewarding 5 ports is so insanely difficult that the game sucks.
Me: "But the Gunslinger is so much more fun..."
Langrad: "We're here to win, not to..."
    Me: "Have fun?" "Hahaha"

Kyle, pay fucking attention here, because I am only going to say it one more time because you refuse to read anything I type.

THAT DOES NOT WORK FOR ME!

I fucking tried it, I did it that way, exactly as you said, and it did not fucking work. Kyle, get your fucking head out of your ass and actually read and listen to what people are typing, I swear you are worse here than most people on politics.

Ok so I just walked Corpse through opening ports on his Firewall + Router. All are Open. and BL doesn't work.

So in other words : It's not his port-forwarding.

He did it all right the first time. It is another issue with BL.

We even used Portforwarding.com's port checker to double check that his ports were open. (or whatever the website is).

I have the exact same issue. I am not dumb, I have taken Network+ courses and MS networking classes. I know how to forward ports. Nothing works...

Meh, I actually kinda like playing BL as a SP game. (I know, I'm strange)

Which is exactly what I have been saying this whole time, I know how to do it, and I did it right, and it didn't work. I went through with Imis just to make absolutely sure I didn't do something wrong, and I still was doing everything right.

I'm tempted to say for anyone thinking I did something wrong still, to just refer to the quote in my sig.....oh wait, I just did.

Hey, did you try what I said without looking at what I said before it?

Host a private game, and let sometime time out. Then go into single player, and invite them. If you have your ports open like you said, it should work, even with the Firewall up. If that doesn't work, well... you either didn't open a specific new port included in a patch or something, or you just have a bad copy of the game. I think it's the latter though.
