Re: AvP Multiplayer Demo!
I turn auto transition off and do it manually through wall leaping. You can sprint nearly the entire time, how are xenomorphs not mobile? Can't take on predators in melee for the life of me, since they ignore counter attack stuns, so I just either one shot them with a trophy kill or tail swipes from the ceiling where they can't reach me without a ranged weapon.
The flamethrower for Marines doesn't do any damage with its main fire as far as I can tell, heard it's bugged from other players in game. Pulse rifle is a great all purpose weapon, high accuracy and rate of fire. The underslung grenade launcher gives has a very steep arc so it wont go far, it'll knock down aliens, stun predators, and one shot marines. the shotgun is useless at anything but melee, but it'll save your life with the alternate fire's double shot. The sniper rifle has an awkward night vision scope, does an absurd amount of damage with semi-auto fire, only 6 shots a mag with one extra when you pick it up. The smartgun locks on for you, weaker per shot than the pulse rifle as far as I can tell.
I don't think the game is as bad as some make it out to be, it's not AvP 2.5, but I think it'll be a good sequel. The marines are still weak in melee and dominate at ranged combat, xenomorphs are still very difficult to see in dark areas and move like lightning, predators are still the middle of the road with a little too much on each side.

Re: AvP Multiplayer Demo!
I think that the SP will make the game but w/e. I use auto transition, it is easier to climb on those surfaces that you keep trying to get on but can't. You still have to use space on the 3 bar crosshair but that is useful. But now the transition key only helps detach you from the roof.
The only drawback is going through the middle area and trying to detach yourself quickly.
I love alien, enjoy predator, and deal with marine.

The demo isn't new player friendly, at all. The controls are awkward until you're used to them, and then the game becomes a lot of fun. It's even better when you can convince the server into a race vs. race battle, or teaming up with players of your own race. I mean, the first time I played as a Xenomorph, I didn't know what I was doing, and I thought the game was slow and awful for it. Until I learned the controls, and the aliens are even faster than in AvP2, much more easier to control, and by far easier to fight with and against.
Marines are slow and awkward, they can't see very well, they can't hear very well, they're weak, and the whole map is dark or flickering with glaring lights that get in your way. It's wonderful. It's what playing a marine should feel like.
