Re: AvP servers?
Everyone keeps standing this next to left 4 dead, thats not what this game is and its not what it was ment to be. The MP section of this game is pretty much exactly what we had with AVP2. It about fast paced rounds and killing anything that moves. Clearly the Deathmatch is difficult to label as a "teamplay" aspect mainly because its not. Its about being number one and stepping on everyone else to get to the top. However, i note that is one of the types of MP. Explain to me how infestation can work unless marines work together? How about team death match or domination? The game was not set up to be a hardcore team players rock fest. You watch my ass Ill watch yours is the force behind the game. There is no way to enforce the "obtain your objective or die trying" here because its all about NOT dying. I view this game as a great way for 18 friends to get together and have a AVP flavored battle with plenty of laughs, jokes, and fuck yous. Unless your played the game is say you shouldn't vote, for those you have, just imagine 18 TTPers, all with (OMG) mics, fighting for their lives against the growing alien infestation as the walls of the pyramid shift around them.

Re: AvP servers?
It'll work the same way I saw it work with Hidden source. No one talked, and yet the marines still won. Even during the games where the server set it to play like the infected gameplay in AVP(the Hidden would kill one then they'ed turn into a hidden also).
And yes AvP isn't that type of game, but that doesn't mean it can't be. It could. I say L4D because the idea of survival is the same in the 2 games. One either out numbered or out performed class vs another.

Re: AvP servers?
You'd think that after seeing the sucess that L4D and L4D2 had they'd try to model a survival game to the same concept of 10000 vs 4(or 20,10,5,1 w\e). It's about staying alive by any means nessisary, and of all games like that, L4D pulled it off almost flawlessly. It doesn't make the game any different or say that this way sucks, but from a finacial point of view I think they woulda made more money off it this way. Atleast make a mode for it and leave the game as is would have been fine, but to over look it completly as if it doesn't exsist doesn't make sense to me.

Let this one pass by for now until Sega or Rebelion fix some of the issues and hopefully add some polish. Then perhaps we can justify the cost.

Okay don't say they stole, i will, 4 players attempting to last as long as possible againt and endless hord, no similarity there. I think what your getting is a good idea, the problem is they thought of it and decided to scrap the operation. Aliens: Colonial Marines was suppose to be just that, a small squad of men pushing threw a hive of aliens to clear objectives.
