All future games have been rendered shit!
Unless they allow me to blow up a large chunk of things in said game.
I watched a bit of one of the kids playig MW2, and beyond being reminded that the game makes me feel like I am fighting a nuclear armed badger in a hallway closet with a blindfold and being spung around ever 20 seconds, it made me realize something else.
Between Bad Company 2 and now Just Cause 2 I am pretty sure all future video games WITHOUT destructible environments have automatically, before they are even released, and in some cases conceived, been ruined for me.
Of course it needs to be well done, and I understand that there are going to be plenty of places where destroying everything wont work, but from now on static un-destroyable shit will no longer be accepted by Mcstrange.
I MUST BLOW SHIT UP!

I can agree somewhat with your statement. It is so fun to destroy the buildings in BC2 especially when you kill a full squad of guys inside. I think it is a feature we will see in many future games because its just plain awesome. :9

I've died a few times because I fail to hear the comm guys say it's going down or I'm not close enough to an exit. I have yet to actually get any kills by blowing up a building, but by god it is fun as hell just blowing up a wall someone was using for cover and killing them. Plus it gives you a new place to hide inside the rubble. I don't know many times I've hidden in the rubble of a fallen building and killed people simply because they fail to look at it for some reason. I don't know why people don't look there more often, I mean it is still a viable place to hide most of the time, especially if it is close enough to a flag you can cap/guard.

Eventually, just as everything does. But since it is still new, it won't be for awhile. Red Faction was the first real game I remember that had anything close to destructible environments and they have only improved upon it over the years. Still fun as hell though since there are so many different, creative things you can do with an environment that changes based on your actions.

Just Cause 2 is just pure joy. Its ridiculous mayhem. A giant playpen for your psychotic side. It has its flaws (story weak, voice acting atrocious, gunplay is meh) but taken as a whole it tickles my happy bone in a decidedly divine manner

I love blowing the crapola out of things... (If you haven't played with me in any game you should know this: I tend to want to see explosions and fire around me...)
I had this same talk with a friend of mine just recently... Now I want this: Deathrace 2000. Now that they can make an environment with perfectly destructible environments and models, I want to drive really, really reaallllyyy fast, blow stuff up and get points for doing so.... I want rocket packs to appear in games and Teddy bears stuffed with C4 but that can wait....

Honestly, I wish people would stop caring so much about graphics when it comes to games. It's like a woman who looks incredibly hot and sexy, but she's a total bitch.
Unless the game is actually good (or in this case the woman is fun to be around), it's simply not worth your time.
