Update so that the last few digits of the version number reads "20".

And...it is so easy to make money off of salvaging enemy mechs. I'm sitting on a 100 mil, and just bought my first behemoth, which comes with two clan gauss cannons standard.

Also, having two lances is a must especially when the enemy starts throwing 10 mechs at you at once.

The behemoth is fine in single player, but once you get to multiplayer it becomes a liability as a fast mech can get and stay behind you consistently and just medium laser your backside to death. It is so slow to turn....

Some are, but they have more torso twist radius than the behemoth.

Mediums are good for speed (lights have too less armor and are only good as scouts) heavies have less speed but sport some better weaponry. Assault can one or two shot a lot of mechs if set up properly, but you have to have a good aim.

A lot of servers that actually run team games and not just arena style have a puretech rule that only allows Inner Sphere weaponry on Inner Sphere mechs and the same for clan weaponry and mechs.

Annihilator happens to be my favorite right now. 360 degree turning. Either 4 light guass guns and low speed or 2 light guass guns and 2 lasers and faster speed.

No games listed on "Games Available" tab? Make sure MTX isn't running, find loader.ini and loader_dev.ini in the MTX folder and delete them. Start MTX.

Normal Installation.

To install MW4:Mercs 3.1 Free Release:
1) Download and install MTX 1.0.3.5 from here http://mektekdev.com/site/index.php?...d=94&Itemid=96. Be sure to run as "Admin".
2) Start MTX, click on the Games Available tab, right click Mercs and choose Install. Note that there is an Options button and an Install button in
the lower corners of the screen. MTX can download via torrent (by default) as well as http. Make sure port 57030 is open for good speed.
3) You must open the following ports for MW4:Mercs 3.1 multiplayer (official article link):
For TCP both inbound and outbound: 47624
For TCP and UDP both inbound and outbound: 2300-2400
Mercs is a "DirectX 7" game. Disable UPnP on your router. Turn off all SW Firewalls, including the Windows Firewall. Check and see if your modem has a built-in router. Could your ISP be blocking any ports? Choose the 56K in-game connection speed to start.

So who all is playing? I'm doing pretty well in the campaign, haven't been able to connect to any servers though, it gives me an error every time I try.

It takes me a few connect attempts to connect to the kurita matchmaking server to see the server list.

I know I am as well as white, buddylee, vlade and imisnew2.

Mechwarrior4: Mercenaries .0021 Patch

We are releasing patch .0021 for Mechwarrior4: Mercenaries MP3.1. You can read the release notes here.

In this patch we are including a catchall .0021 patch, which, if you are starting from scratch you can skip patching entirely and go right to .0021. If you already have any of the previous versions installed, including .0017 to .0020, then please download the necessary patches for your version. You have two patching mechanisms available for .0021 including a MTX patch which can be used with the MTX Extractor as well as a Winpatch which is a standalone patching tool. These patches are a bit heavier in download size because they contain full versions of several files seen in the wild as corrupt. These patches should clear up plenty of problems for plenty of people.

Use of the MTX Extractor is strongly encouraged for those more technically inclined. Make sure you have the most up to date version of the Extractor installed as a critical issue has been corrected in the Extractor software.

At this time we are not providing a http download option for these patches and you are encouraged to download the patch via torrent. You can use your favorite torrent client and install each patch via the MTX Extractor. Be sure to patch in sequence!
