CTF server?

Ok, so seriously....we need a new game.

I was thinking/hoping TPG could get a CTF server.

I LOOOOOOOVE CTF, have played most of them. I think a Quake 2/3 CTF or HL2 CTF server would be the bomb!

But the question is, are there any other CTF players here that would populate it?

So who is with me?

DOD is not capture the flag n00b...that is checkpoints, not CTF...

CTF is grabbing a flag from a base, and fighting to get it back to your base....takes an AWFUL lot of teamwork....

They have a game mode in TF2 where you steal documents and take them back to your base.

DoD 1.3 had this mode as well.

If we're getting a CTF server, it's UT2k4, not fuckin Quake. I don't think there'd be much public demand for this kind of thing, though. Quake 4 and UT3 suck, and the older games don't have enough people playing them.

We'd be more likely to see a TF2 CTF server, even though TF-style CTF is crap.

Guyver, I think it's time you take a step back about being so aggressive about DoD:S in the forums. Just because your game is having a difficult time with population does not mean TPG can't explore new directions.

It's getting old with the bashing man.

Back on topic, I think it would be nice to have a dedicated CTF server, either in a game we already have or in a new venue.

Meh....

CTF is a fun mode, but by in large the games that have it as a central game-mode are, IMO, not up to the standards of what TPG looks for in a game.

I mean, I absolutely love CTF maps in TF2, but I seem to be part of a very small minority that do. So a TF2 CTF server wouldn't work really well.

As for Quake an UT... go look at any of Big's rants about them and you'll see that the chances of us hosting a server of one of them is next to nothing. To many reasons that those games are just not in the 'teamplayer' mindset.
