I know we talked about this game on the old forums... for those of you who were waiting to pick it up, it's $5 on Steam right now, and $6.25 with all DLC. It will definitely kill a few hours.

I was talking to weakling spaz about this earlier, and while it sounds fun, I just can't justify buying a game that basically plays itself for you. Tower defense games are very fun, but I think a large part of that is because the best of them require decision-making on the fly.

I'm not sure where you drew the connection to tower defense. While this game won't be occupying anyone's attention for very long, I think it is well worth the low price. I got 2-3 hours of enjoyment out of it. Less than the cost of a drink at the movies here..

They actually mention tower defense as a place they drew ideas from on the game's store page. I guess because you setup everything ahead of time? I dunno.

It's all about setting up your giant space armadas ahead of time and then watching the cosmic ballet. The glorious destruction. You can fast forward the battles to an extent. The playing is done as you build your ships and position your fleets. It's a little something different and fun! Plus, it runs on my work laptop and presumably on just about any desktop from the last 8-10 years!
