Yup, same thing will happen if you explore a lot on the surface, it will lag as it generates the terrain in front of you (which is 8 times the surface of the earth if cubes are 1m). On your laptop I wouldn't explore too much or you will eat up a ton of space very quickly.

And Blake when you say space do you mean HDD space?

Both HDD in the small term and RAM while you are playing.

Get on steam when you play man, you are never on there anymore.

and if you want to invest in multiplayer... hop on the server. Anyone here can give you the address.

I have 4 gigs of ram, it says 3.8 are usable. I haven't downloaded much of anything to my laptop, save Xfire and minecraft, I'll download steam though.

I didn't really dig directly below me, I was shoveling sand so I could get to coal, and later on I went back to the surface and it was dark, and fell in the hole lol.

Still having a blast though, i just got off work so I'll play more when I get home.

Dug to bedrock for the first time, I found some gold ores and made tools with them. This game is addicting.
