Thread: Those of you upset with BF3, may I say at least it is not MW3

Hi all,
I read this piece on Ars and even I, the ardent defender of origin, am disgusted by the level to which activision is going with MW3, they literally want you to pay to take in air in the vicinity of a MW3 disk it would appear.

i didnt read it all but its the industry as a whole thats becoming all about greed

So we're going to bitch at an FPS for doing something that MMO's do? 50 a year isn't steep. Hardcore gamers bitching about that probably have less things to worry about. Also, getting maps a little ahead isn't that big of a difference. Especially considering that the average player that doesn't have Elite won't care as much as someone with.

Do I support the Elite move? No. But after reading so many posts made by people defending games I have learned you aparently have to be lenient in liking games.

So, its OK for activison to ask you for $50 a year after asking $60 a year to play there game but it is not ok for EA to give you free stuff for pre ordering and requiring you to downlad a free client? Say what you want I got BF3 for $60 to get the "full" MW3 experience I would have to pay $110 or $90 if I bought the prestige edition.

LOL. You think you're getting the "full" BF3 experience with 60? No. There WILL be more DLC. I promise.

And assuming you didn't preorder BF3, you're looking at 3 or 4 DLCs. Let's do the math here. 60 + 15 + 15 + 15 (3 DLC) comes out to what? 105. Both games are equal here my friend.

MW3 has been adding stuff to their preorder. At first there was nothing. Now there's CoD4 with it. I also think there's something else small. I wouldn't be surprised if they added more. PLUS, the article itself says there is another edition of the game that comes with extra perks that I'm assuming would be roughly 75-80.

everything I hear about mw3 is its a slightly tweaked version of COD4. infinity ward is a shadow of what it was during the DEV of COD4.They are gonna just gonna cash in on the sequel stauts of cod4. I bet they could just put out cod4 mix up and still make ton'O money. they not working very hard on the game just the hype and ways to milk it.

but at least they didnt bomb like treyarch did with WAW, IMHO WAW was better then COD4 better maps textures and features like co-op and the single player was at least decent compared with COD4's offering. but it didnt have the BRO-HYPE. treyarchs masters whipped them and made them poop out COD Black op's which made the masters happy w/$$$$$$$.

its pretty much the end of and era. everything else from here on out is gonna go towards PTP/PTW, with new BRO-HYPING games coming faster and faster. its gonna look like the F2P MMO landscape with tons of trash games trying to money grab. I hope bf3 is the last of whats left of FPS gaming as we know it.

I place the blame squarely on consoles and best buy.

You're biased. I don't really like either game.

Nice throwout of an accusation of bias there, but lets be clear I did pre-order the game and BF4 is not going to be coming out November of 2012. If you want the most up to date COD experience its going to be 110 per anum. You are now investing in Activison in order to play the game without tangible benefits like a return on investment. But nice try.

+1, it gets worse in that the COD multiplayer experience has not changed much since COD4. Black Ops multiplayer was a re skinned version of MW2, MW3 will be a re-skinned Black Ops. The good news is that every year you get to buy the same game again, now for $90-$110.
