Fucking Origin

Finally decided to DL origin to preorder BF3...They don't warn you, but you can't use an email with periods in it like "john.doe@gmail.com". So, I can't use the handle I wanted since it's "taken" by my first invalid account...fing A.

Oh, and it won't let me use PayPal...ffs. Makes me appreciate Steam even more.

Like I've been saying, I will use origin, download from it, whatever if I have to, but I will NEVER give EA my credit card number. And choosing NOT to use PayPal is a huge mistake on their part.

Do you remember your Master EA ID? You can login with that as well, then change your email.

The first of many problems I should think. Steam has been out a while but origin was just developed yes? Probably going to be a lot of bugs.

when you ordered it did you choose the PC Download? Besides getting the free bonus weapons I don't see much more incentive to get the download..

I am using an email address with a period in it and it worked just fine. It's exactly like your example "first.last@gmail.com" so I'm not sure what the problem is there. Granted I've had this as my EA account for quite some time so maybe it's something that only applies to new registrations?

I preordered via Origin in order to get a free copy of Dead Space 2, no issues so far here. Hope I can continue to say that.

Lets not forget how god awful Steam was when it first came out, Origin is already lightyears ahead of where Steam was when it started, just not to where Steam is currently. Lets hope EA decides to put at least a little effort into fixing it up (unlike so many of their other products), it has the potential to be quite nice I think.
