What have you tried out and what have you enjoyed playing the most so far?

I've had two characters.

A Brenton destruction mage that I gave up on around level 20. The magic just seemed boring overall and I rarely did much more than use a fireball to open then the fire stream to burn them down while Lydia attacked/tanked.

I've beaten the main story, thieves guild, dark brotherhood and some others with a Wood Elf rogue build. Archery, Enchanting, Light Armor, Sneak skill set also using daggers (no skills spent in 1h) and smithing (no skills). This character was an absolute blast. The brotherhood and thieves guild quests were a lot more fun than the mages guild and sneaking through dungeons, rolling up to enemies and swiping them down with a single slash of the dagger (x15 damage from skills, x2 from gloves) was ridiculously awesome.

I'm considering making a melee build now but I'm really not sure I want to do something so boring sounding, so I am curious what everyone else has tried. Any unique builds out there?

Nord, one handed axe + shield, heavy armor, trained smithing, one handed weapons and enchanting up to 100.

It does get boring pretty quickly.

I'm having lots of fun with a night elf with bows and magic. I'm currently doing stuff for the companions, so I can turn into a werewolf.

I'm working on doing a charcter for each race eventually, but atm, here's my main Character

Nord
Skills: Archery, Smithing, One Handed, Heavy Armor, Sneak, Block

Sort of a Stealthy Warriror Type, uses Sneak attacks with bows to pick off people, and then uses his sword and shield to mop up the rest.

I just built one of these myself... I just bout fell asleep.

I think that is one of the first things you get as a companion..

Im playing an Imperial Archer Specializing in Archery, Alchemy, and Restoration magic. Little bit of destruction but not much.

Even though my guy specializes in upclose and personaly beatdowns I always start off the fight with archery, and im enjoying the suspense of wondering if the big mob will spot me or not. I might try doing a sneaky based character majoring in archery... Does anyone know how to tell if you will hit someone with a melee sneak shot? other then their name appearing on the screen with the pickpocket option. Every once in a while il try and sneak up on someone, get reaaaal close, then get instadetected. If I get enchanting up really high but dont put many/any points in enchanting whats the basic % for rings and stuff? Iv been seeing about 8-9% for making rings and my enchanting skill is at 54 or so.

I just found a dragonbone shield (light) that gives + 22% magic resist, just in time to fight my first lich and find my first mask. Im hoping to destroy it and put really strong magic resist on most of my armor. Cause even with 350 HP (410 with my Ebony armor of health) magic rips me a new one most of the time.
