Then I'd wager it's the search results setting. Somehow I doubt even you have over 14000 posts there.

That is true - I do not have anywhere near that number of posts. I might be a post whore, but I am a loyal TPG post whore

But to that point, Jude doesn't have 14000 posts here and is experiencing the same issues.

Even more to that point packetshooter and Loco-Raider both have less than 500 posts and are also reporting a problem, with Packet only have 174.

Hmm - are there any other restrictions to that limiter? Or is it just 500 of the "last" participated threads? Cause if it is just last 500 participated then it shouldn't matter how many posts anyone has. But if it is something like the last 500 participated within x time then I can see where that might cause issues (though Jude would still be within reasonable assumed limits I'd wager as he's not a full on post whore yet)

Also - reading that short thread from there - it seems that the limit is on the number of replies to threads? Not the number of threads participated in? That thread is a little confusing.

Civil are you having the same issues?

I am not 100% sure if it restricts the time or not. I'm assuming it's all-time posts because I don't have 500 posts in the last 30 days.

Well then I'm not sure what could causing the issue for us here at TPG. Perhaps reload the plugin?

bigdog has already reloaded the plugin. It's likely not an issue on the other forums because they don't have this limit enabled or have it set to a higher value. It's also likely they don't have the MILLIONS of posts that TPG has. TPG is a massive beast in database terms. Thousands of users, dozens of forums and millions of posts. We have to tune things fairly low or we risk slamming the DB and causing excessive CPU use and drive up the cost of the site. This feature is driven by the search API and search is a HUGE CPU pig.

Big world of difference between the two... We've likely got more than 3x the number of forums. We're up over 100 forums now as is.

Well you are correct that the number of threads/posts is lower (currently). The EVE forum I am referring to it just started on April 9th 2011 (it's a redux of an earlier forum community after a very bad security breach).

However, in that time since April 2011 there are:

4,994
Posts
331,921
Members
4,148
Active Members
1,305

so they might very ell eclipse the number of posts/topics very quickly.
