I have jumped in squads tried getting them to talk is like pulling teeth I was rather upset about this as it was a "reg" clan on ya'lls server I kept asking if they needed a certain kit and even used the como rose asking for orders WTH? they were to busy flying a jet to give an order

The only way to turn the tide when one team is getting blown out is to get several working squads. They don't even have to be great, just working together towards a certain goal. One great squad can only do so much, and the team will still lose if the rest are not working together.

I have had many frustrating nights where I had a good squad but nothing we did seemed to matter. Then a couple of good squadleaders would join, and the rounds would get competetive. We wouldn't win too much, but it would get close.

So for me, I'd rather have Manno, Latin, Xav and Pepper each lead a squad of noobs on my team, than make up the supersquad. Because the supersquad doesn't win games alone. Then we'd have 5 decent squads and we would probably make it happen.

As for WolfSpirit, I don't like snipers in my squad, but I don't mind an inexperienced medic who dies a lot. If you play in my squad (not sniper...) I would be happy to help you out, but there are no secrets I can tell you that will make you a superplayer over night. There are little things here and there that you can pick up, and over time you get better and better. And one day you can hang with the best.

I usually create Alpha squad because I enjoy playing with different people, and spreading the TTP gospel to new players. I love to hear my squadmates say they have never seen teamplay like that, or shouting "same squad!" at the end of the round. It even dulls the pain of losing.

yeah nights like that I dont mind losing as long as it is close those make for the best battles

I know I should look at this as only a game ect but I hate losing even when my team wins I get so pissed when squads could have done more
I take no comfort in knowing I did my best when there are other squads could have done more to support the effort

Does this make sense or is it just a ramble

I feel the same way sometimes. And we don't see it as "just a game" here at TTP.

But I try to focus on myself and my own squad. Too much frustration to be had if I should let other peoples performance bother me. But we have all heard and said "what the hell is the rest of our team doing?"...

I hope it was not an {HRD} squad because I am the only one who does not use the mic consistently; and that is only part of the time (when my GF is in the office)!

In all seriousness though I can say that if you jump into an air vehicle squad be prepared to NOT have too many orders. They are usually in a squad together so piilot may communicate with gunner, the planes can give each other support, and the helo can ask the plane for cover from enemy fighters.

But the objective of an air cehicle squad changes so frequently that issuing orders via marker is futile. Regardless of the fact that the air vehicle squad has a different way of dealing with orders then a ground pounding squad, they all oughtta be talking, vehicle or not. I know when I cannot VOIP I make a strong effort to use the keyboard chat and I am quick with the radio keys. I also keep my ears open even though I may not be able to verbally respond.

If you jump into a squad that is communicating poorly, work hard to get them to talk, they might just be shy; or start a new squad, invite people, and get those guys to talk. Also, if you play here enough you will get a feel for who the good squad leaders and members are and you will always wind up in a squad that communicates. Even if that doesnt prevent your team from getting stomped, at least you and your sqaudmates feel like you all made a real effort.

Neg it wasnt HRD I have squaded with JBW something forgive the incomplete name I forget he is a {HRD} and OMG I love how much he uses coms it helps out alot...it was =LLC= or something like that but i guess scence I didnt have thier tag I was a nobody or At least that is how it made me feel and this is BS

I understand about the marker being futile but what is wrong with telling me over VOIP? I even have set up a button on my JS for VOIP so I can communicate about the only thing I havent assigned is the com rose and that takes a Macro and I refuse to use them as they are in my book a honest way of cheating, but that is a different topic.

Many great points have been made here. I understand the frustration because I have felt it. The bottom line is to do you best as a squad and team. Mentor those around you and lead. You are way better off to spread out the good players to squad leader positions then you are all joining the same squad. There is just no better answer. Auto balance a. does not work and b. can cause server stability issues. Randomizers can be even worse. I have seen the teams get stacked way out of hand and what would be worse than just getting into a groove with the same guys only to be switched to the other team.

Yesterday I played for 4.5 hours and each round was close with no rounds that I felt were a blowout. There were some tough battles and it was a very fun day of BF2. We did not have a randomizer or balancer yesterday. I do not think it is as common as we think that the teams get that bad out of balance. The times that it does can get old but I do not feel that they are the majority.

Just play the team you are placed on and things will work out. I can count on one hand the times I have switched teams on the vanilla server over the past year. I do not have any trouble finding good players on either side that I enjoying playing with.

The LLC boys spend a lot of time in the air, and a lot of time they make the squad but don't lock it. That means that when you join, they may not even notice because they are up in a helo.

If the SL is flying, join another squad that is groundpounding. You will soon learn who flies and who caps flags FTW...
